This is absolutely perfect for my daughter's gaming room. I was surprised at first on the size and how small it was. I thought that it was going to underperform. However I was pleasantly surprised. I do have to say that we have not experienced the heat of the summer just yet in its entirety, but we live in a two-story home that is hard to regulate the upstairs temperature, so sometimes and gets a little too hot in some of the rooms and so far this works beautifully. My daughter's game room is about 11X11 feet,door closed.

This portable air conditioner is definitely worth the money. You add ice cold water to the holding tank, and it cools the room. I don't know why there are bad reviews for this Costway. As long as you follow the instructions, it works great. So great, that I bought another one.

Best windowless portable air conditioner!

I really like this air cooler.  It cools really nice. I didn't give it 5 stars because the blue cooling bottles are not very sturdy and they should have some type of child resistant cap on them.  This product is really worth the money. It cools our small living room nicely. We add the cooling bottle on top and its even better.

An Evaporative Air Cooler Is A Humidifier - Swamp Cooler, which uses water directly. In theory, the cooler the water, the cooler the air passing through the water barrier, and in this case a wetting pad serves as the water barrier. So know what you are purchasing and understand it's function is to raise the humidity and prevent dry air, but also to offer cooler moist air. The most ideal place to use one of these coolers is in dry air desert areas in Central and Western USA. So if you already live in a high humidity area, like the South-East Region, then the cooler feature only works if you can get the water temperature lower than room temperature, and the room is less than 150 Sq.Ft., and you don't mind sitting in the wind stream. So to be honest, if you can install a cheap window AC unit instead, then you will be better off doing so. Otherwise, you can try this air cooler, but don't expect any cooling miracles. Another place this device can be used is in a greenhouse, just FYI. --- So far I have been able to get some wonderful cool air out of this unit, but I cheated at first time startup by throwing a tray of ice cubes in the bottom water reservoir, and placing a blue-ice pack in the upper reservoir. YaaaHooo, my ears got cold after 30 minutes, lol. The next trick is keeping a schedule and constantly circulating the actual ice packs that came with it. It's my new experimental toy! LOL

Kind Of Sort Of Does As Advertised, BUT ...

When searching for free-standing air conditioners this came up in the search results but I would definitely say it is more of a fan/cooler than a full-powered air conditioner. It definitely keeps the room that I have it in at a cool temperature if I'm using the cooling function. This unit also does require a bit of upkeep refilling the water tank and changing out the ice packs that are a pretty essential part of the cooling function. In my experience running it a full tank of water lasts about a full day of use.

More Cooler Than AC

The unit really helps keep us cool during the night. It's not too loud, but I like a bit of "noise" when I sleep, so it's nice. The amount of water in the tank lasts all night

Works as described

It cools down the bedroom a few degrees if I have the door closed and use the ice blocks. But it is so ridiculously loud. The fan makes this aggravating sound I cannot deal with while trying to sleep. If you have misophonia do not get this. It will drive you insane. It's either cool off some or go crazy from the sounds. If you don't suffer from sound triggers this might be a good purchase for you.

This is not worth purchasing. Does nothing to cool the air around it and within the first five minutes of operation it started to rattle very loudly and has not stopped, just gets worse and worse. You can put watter and ice boxes in it and the air that comes off the front is no cooler than that of a standard $20 box fan. Probably could have dealt with the lack of cooling it offers if it could have at least made the air coming out feel fresh, but thats not even a thing. This "AIR COOLER IS A JOKE AND DOES NOT WORK!!!!

Horrible

purchase this item to enhance my central air conditioning and make a room that is typically warmer, cooler. All I ended up doing was creating a indoor sauna. I do not recommend this product as it creates way too much humidity. In order to be effective I would need to spend another $200 for a dehumidifier.

too much humidity

This ac doesn't cool at all! I had it set up for cool in my bedroom. Had the water in it plus added a few icecubes. Had the ice pack in the top, not even 2 hours later, my room was very humid and hot! I checked the settings to make sure it was set correctly, they were. I am returning this!

Keep your money, these won't cool!
