This diverter works well to keep steam release from damaging walls and ceiling. I very rarely use it, as most of what I cook in the Instant Pot I allow to continue cooking as the pressure naturally releases. There may come a time , though, when I use it for something more timing sensitive that needs to stop cooking quickly.
