It took both me and my husband to install it. We followed the instructions completely because we wanted to have it installed all year round. I love the insulation foam it came with to put over the accordion panels. Since it's cooler out now. They work great at keeping the heat in and the cold out. It also is the perfect sized unit to keep his apartment cool. The remote also is very convenient for my brother in law. Definitely recommend!

Great product!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I got this because I've got a spare room that doesn't have Central air. It's about 500 ft with 11 ft ceilings and this works fantastic. It quickly cools the entire room and is seriously cold. It was easy to install, I did it by myself and doesn't seem to use much energy. Dual vents help because you can direct them in opposite directions to cool the room down quicker. I live on the southern coast of the US and it reaches 110 or more here during the summer.

Easy to install and cools quickly

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It's still winter, but I'm prepared for the sweltering summer that hits my workroom each year, thanks to this TCL air conditioner.  Ready out of the box and installed within minutes using the included window expanders and foam seal. While I haven't run it for long since it is still cold here, the air conditioner put out quite a bit of cool air for the time I have run it to test it. For some reason the product did not have a remote in the box as indicated, but no worries because the app was easy to download and makes remote control of the air conditioner simple by phone or through the Google smart speaker. The included accordion expander adds 3"-11" on each side of the window and fit the dormer perfectly in this room. Looking forward to a cool summer!

The unit is mechanically great. It's strong, quiet and does a great job doing what it's intended to do. 
That, however, is offset by the cheap and subpar electronics that makes it possible. 
The controller board corrodes constantly and stops the unit from functioning properly. The buttons don't work or they're stuck in a perpetual cycle. 
It's inexcusable to have this kind of issue with a product like this.

I am truly disappointed in this window unit. It was purchased it in April this year, 2025, and by June it was spewing a rust-colored substance on the outside housing. Thinking it just may have been normal wear and tear, I reasoned that I would clean it at the end of the season, so, I left it alone. Last night I heard a noise I had not noticed before and peeped in through the air vent but didn't see anything. This morning, I looked in again and gasped at what I saw. The blades are black with mold and it's growing on the Styrofoam housing. I turned it off and opened the drain plug to let it dry out and the coil in that area is solid rust!
