Very good product. We were looking for a meat grinder and sausage maker, and we weren't disappointed. With two people, it was pretty easy to make some 30 pounds of sausage in less than 4 hours. Not bad! I would reccomend this product. It made great boudin sausage from a Louisiana recipe we found online!

I unpacked my Weston #10; cleaned it according to the instructions to remove the shipping grease; and it worked, first try, without any dark spots on the meat. When finished I coated it as per instructions. I chose to use the spray cooking oil (we use olive oil for everything).
--The unit is very sturdy. I have difficulty understanding how the table clamps could be tightened down hard enough to break the sturdy housing (as some have stated) unless it be a defective unit.
--Like all kitchen gadgets, it takes time to clean. But it was easier than most because it could be dunked directly into hot soapy water.
--I cut off most of the fat and started grinding my sale-priced New York Strip Steak using the small hole cutter; but it plugged up too fast, so I switched to the large hole cutter. I see no reason to use the small-hole cutter unless it be for things other than meat. The leftover film from the fat that I was unable to cut off would build up on the cutter; which turned out to be an unexpected benefit because it filtered out the bad stuff. I stopped about every half pound and cleaned the cutter simply by scrapping off the backside of the cutter - - this was sufficient to keep the finely ground meat flowing through the grinder. I ended up with hamburger patties (and meatloaf) so pure and free of gristle that even my daughter would eat it - - and loved it!

Excellent for the occassional user.

This is a beautiful piece of equipment. I wanted to start making my own Sausage and this works great!

Exactly what I expected

Got this for my husband so he could grind up his goose meat from this fall. It arrived on time and in good condition. It's easy to use and to clean. Husband loves it!

Great meat grinder

I've read alot of bad reviews on other sights about this product. It is not the most precise castings and very lightweight metal so treat it like a toy almost. Be careful to get the screen tightner threaded straight and tight enough the blade cuts but not too tight that it cranks hard and pulls off the counter. So far it has worked as expected.

not highest quality but works

It does not work as a meat grinder. It does not work as a sausage stuffer. Was received missing the 10mm grinding plate. This thing should not be sold as a meat grinder. Should be reclassified as rustic relic. and the rust is what happens when you put it in the dish washer for the first time use. Overall rating is the minimum needed to file this review. Should be zero star.

Bad. Pretty Bad

I was disappointed on the grinding meat performance. It worked on grinding vegetables but not for meat. I did follow the instructions but it will still spin the meat without grinding it. You have to open the machine and start over…. If you have used in the past an old style grinder you will be disappointed about this one, but if you don't know how a grinder should work maybe you can get used to this one. I had to return mine.

Disappointed

This product SMELLED terribly bad. It smelled like a wet towel. It did not grind the meat what so ever, its stirred it basically. I know that it was an inexpensive grinder, but it did not work even for a moment. Sorry.

I returned the product, because after first use, and cleaning, it immediately started rusting. Since using it would mean it is in contact with food, it is not safe. It is simply unusable.

Useless thing

The grinder arrived at my door with the handle sticking out of the box. I opened the box and found someone at the factory had cross threaded the ring nut during assembly. I noticed a lot pits inside the grinder both on the screw and the walls. Very poor casting quality. I boxed back up and took back to Walmarts. I have since ordered another from a different Manufacture and not thru Walmarts!!!

Poor all the way around!!
