The expectorant helped to relieve symptoms of the congestion. The expectorant helped to loosen the phlegm and helped in recovery.

Mucinex tastes worse than Buckleys.  But it did seem to help.  Not right away but after 2-3 days I did notice it helping.  Did help sleep better at night.
