This is my second time buying this model. The first one I had over 10 years, and I used it several times a week. I'd still be using it if I hadn't accidentally cracked the crock. It heats up quickly, and the HIGH setting is very hot. I can cook frozen chicken breasts in about 3 hours. The LOW setting is hot enough to use as a main cooking temp. Soups will boil around the edges. 

I liked this model so well that I didn't even look at other brands/models; I just ordered another one of these.

This is one of several different slow cookers from Hamilton Beach.  It is not the cheapest, but it has programmable settings which I wanted It is still a very good value for the price.  It came well packaged, and is easy to set up. The larger oval size accommodates larger roasts or other things.  The lid fits securely and is easy to clean.  The crock insert is heavy and well made, and the surface is easy to clean.   The day it came I used it for a large chuck roast with potatoes, carrots and onions.  It has settings for warm, low, and high, and settings for the hours - 2,4,6,8,10.  I set it for 4 hours on high  When it was done it automatically set to the warm setting.  The roast and veggies came out perfect.  I was very pleased with this slow cooker.  I usually use a pressure cooker, but this is a better option sometimes.   I  would recommend it.

This slow cooker is exactly what I wanted.

I received the HAMILTON Beach slow cooker  yesterday and cooked a chuck roast, potatoes, carrots, and onion in it this morning. The slow cooker worked fabulously, and our meal was deliciously cooked just as the website stated. I love that it is programmable...just set it and forget it! After searing the roast. I set the temp  on high heat for about 2 hours, then cut the heat down to low for another 5 hours. The roadt was soooo tender.  I'm  sure I will be cooking a lot if meals in this slow cooker. I would highly recommend this product.

I like the soft touch keypad controls as opposed to the low-high-keep warm rotary knob controls but I've had both break on previously owned crock pots. This is a perfect size crock pot for a number of dishes I like to make like chili and soups. The 4 qt pot is too small and 7 qt is more difficult to store and that extra qt capacity is rarely needed.

Great value / Use frequently

Looks good, works good. The lid is not locked, like most crock pots, but it doesn't seem to affect it at all. The oval shape is much better than the round ones I have had in the past.

I JUST LOVE THIS CROCK POT. I AM OVER 83 YRS OF AGE. I DID NOT KNOW COOKING COULD BE SO EASY. JUST FILL THE POT.............NO STIRRING...NO WATCHING IT DOES NOT BOIL OVER. LIKE THEY SAY"JUST SET IT AND FORGET IT!! "  W  O  W !

Cooking with a crock Pot, makes my Life Easier!

Best Crockpot hands down. I have owned this crockpot for 10 years and recently bought another one as a gift. This crockpot is easy to use, and easy to wash. Cooks perfectly and looks nice on the counter.

I had a small slow cooker with a cracked plastic lid. I could nor get a replacement.
I bought this instead and it's bigger and has more features than the old one. The price was really
reasonable. Made an awesome italian venison roast that was too die for.

better slow cooker

A good size for two people if you need leftovers for later in the week.
Easy to use, and I like being able to set temperature independent of the time. The lighted countdown feature is useful also. Everything we've cooked has turned out fine, but don't forget to adjust the cooking times, if you're coming from a smaller cooker to a larger one, as we did.

The times are automatic, you can't manually set the time. ie if you want 5 hrs, you have to select 4 or 6 and no 30 min increments available

Not exactly what I wanted, but it works

I used this 6-Quart Programmable Slow Cooker twice. I programed it for slow cooking : 6 hours. I checked it after 4 hours. it had stopped cooking.  I had to reprogram it on high cooking to finish the roast. 
The same thing happened the next time I used it. I hand washed it and I found several pin holes that the enamel did not fill.
I returned it for a refund.

Stopped cooking after 4 hours.
