makes kitchen life easy

I don't think I can say enough positives about this slicer! Perhaps it's overpriced for the plastic pieces that they are, with little blades inside - and the demonstration on TV made it seem like you can do it with one hand, but I love it! It is such a Savor of time and my hands from using my hand Mandolin whereby even when I've been careful I have cut myself. The little gripper legs are handy on the countertop but again don't think you can do this with one hand and read a newspaper like a demonstration that I saw! You can adjust the blade thickness which is very nice. I have not used some of the other features that reportedly it can do. I just use it for straight slicing.  Know that the little food Bin to put in your items, which I mainly use lots of onions and carrots... That you can't put in a whole lot it isn't like a food processor. But again it's very convenient, I thinly slice the vegetables that I want when I'm making my big pots of food and it cleans well. Generally I use 3 lb of onions when I'm making a pot of food so this has been a safer time-saving device, opposed to my very nice Sharp stainless steel hand mandolin.  I know directions say that it's dishwasher safe, but I'm the dishwasher! I have noticed that you've got to really be careful and make sure you get every bit of the food particles out from between the blade and then underneath that could be difficult to see and possibly miss - therefore you could have contamination. I'm extremely fussy about my cooking and have Always used a bleach-base when I clean any of my utensils. I love it I think I'm going to get another one for my seasonal place in Connecticut and not have to take this one back and forth!

Much safer than others, especially for kids, even for toddlers. A little hard to clean, but that is expected for safety's sake, and they provide a nice cleaning brush tool.

The the best tool ever. Affordable and will last you a long time. It saves time slice vegetables fast. In comparison to some other models, this one keeps your hands safe.

This slicer works even better than expected.  I have a very nice mandolin slicer that I will likely never use again now that's I have this unit. Not only is it easier and requires less energy to slice items, it's much safer and has a greater range of thicknesses. It is well made, sturdy, stays put on you counter when in use and surprisingly easy to use. A quality product that I've come to expect for Starfrit. I highly recommend.

Amazing!

I'm in love! I have use other mandolins before and they are a great help but even with guards I always manage to cut myself. This one keeps your fingers completely away from blades while using. I'm still have a bit of a time figuring out the dicing setting, but all in all totally worth it, and you can't beat the price.

more of a mandolin but smaller out omes, buy a potato fry slicer if you want longer fries and a faster experience. good if its on sale. probably buy something else for chopping

I bought this two days ago and I'm returning it. None of the potatoes fit into the opening. A beef steak tomato won't fit either. 
Terrible chore to clean. Some of the surfaces are not reachable. It's dishwasher safe; without a dishwasher I doubt this will be sanitary.
