I had a $40 blender I NEVER used .. I had a baby and used couple times to make baby food and it burnt out. I got this cheaper one and has worked just fine ! Buy it! Here I made baby angus beef , sweet potato and cocoyam and came out smooth As purée !

this blender is just the right size. I dont need a blender that does 50 things. I only want it to blend. this great blender has made some great smoothies.  which is what I bought it for.  and it cleans up do well. definitely a good buy.

perfect size

Started leaking after 2 weeks, stopped working totally after 3 weeks. This is exactly why I decided to go with a $16 blender, because I knew if this happened to a $40 model (which it will) I'd be upset. I think it was the frozen whole strawberries today that blew the motor out, so this is not a good choice for frozen fruit or smoothies.

Didn't even last a month

didnt get a chance to return it in time,... but this thing over heated over something so simple. its been working since but you get what you pay for right

I bought this bcuz I needed a cheap blender fire smoothies that worked and I read a review, it said, "only good for smoothies" Well perfect! I thought.... 
 Well, after chopping my already SMALL FROZEN fruit pieces, I added water to the blender first (above the blades, as it says I had too put that much.) then added the fruit, which filled it just over half way. Turned it on and within 5-6 seconds, it stops spinning and is stuck, you can hear the motor winding loudly. I mix everything with a spoon, shake it and turn it upside down, trying to remove anything that might be stuck and put back on and turned it on. Repeated this 4 times before I had a DECENT consistency and a mess. It's not worth $5!!

Not good at all

Took it out the box and went to blend a smoothie for dinner and it worked for about two minutes then there was a flash of light and now it won't work.  Had to return it. Very disappointed.

First use and it doesn't work anymore

The product had decent reviews and was so inexpensive that I assumed it would be sufficient for the twice a year I would use it. Wrong. Cracked on the first smoothie! I'll spend a little more and get a decent one next time.

Maybe spend a little more..

The motors burn out very quickly.  Bought one, the motor burnt out within a month.  Replaced it.  The motor of the second one kept burning out.  I bought the protection plan (which is awful and I highly recommend never ever buying one for anything) and they only reimbursed me for a portion of the product.  I generally like Mainstays products, but unfortunately, the blender is a no go.

Motor keeps burning out

I bought this in the beginning of july, and it stopped working the beginning of September. I am highly disappointed.

Very disappointing.

Total trash. Do not waste your money. It's cheap but so is the quality.  I used it once and it started to produce this horrible burning smell. I do not play with electricity, so I immediately got rid of it and bought a good quality Oster blender.
