[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Coleman, although not the top-of-the-line in coolers, makes a good product and one that will work very well for an upcoming family reunion we are arranging.  ********* Quart coolers are large enough for 3 or 4 fresh salmon. That volume for $70 is amazing!

I bought this because I was taking food up to my daughter in college and we were stopping overnight at a friend's and I didn't want the food to spoil. My current 1980's coller is too small for road trips/transport and I got the biggest one for a great value that I can find. The reviews seemed good and I figured I could return it. I love it! A few notes. It is quite large. Was a good size for this weekend, but prob too big for local needs. Let me repeat - it's very large, which means it takes a lot of ice to fill. I froze some large ice packs, had my ice machine run as much as it could overnight, and then bought two bags of ice. It did the job. I heard the ice slushing around 5 days later before it had all turned to water (this is in ~55 degree day temps). Overall I'm very happy I made the purchase - it will be used on many road trips to come.

Love it, size is very large

I bought this cooler with 2 bags of ice and added 2 cases worth of beverages. We added a LOT more stuff on Day 2 -- two turkeys, salad vegs %26 dressings, etc. Everything was still well chilled and half of the ice was still there on Day 3 when we cooked and prepped our Thanksgiving Feast. My daughter's family was fine taking their leftovers home in the cooler, still with the same ice. So .. Nice!!
Added extra for the fifth star: I bought it on clearance for $30 off the regular price. Yay!!

2 cases for 2 days with 2 bags .. No problem!

This ice chest is perfect for a party to hold several cases of soda, juice boxes, and bottled water. This ice chest makes 14 lbs of ice look like nothing, so make sure to buy at least 30 pounds of ice. That way it doesn't look like you've stacked everything. I've lasted a couple of days and it was extremely easy to empty out the water.

We needed a reasonably priced chest cooler for a trip from Texas to Colorado.  We thought we would need to replenish the ice to keep items frozen.  Wow! We were very pleased with how long everything in the cooler stayed “frozen”.  It worked perfectly.

Large Cooler without breaking the bank

We bought two of these coolers so my son-in-law could go down to Buford, South Carolina and buy 100 pounds of shrimp and to mix with ice and bring it back to Easley South Carolina to sell to make some money. They have kept the ice and shrimp very cold and they have a spout on the side so you can drain the excess water every day so you can refill the ice to keep the shrimp better chilled. They hold a lot of shrimp and ice. The Coleman is a good quality cooler and has always been my favorite hands-down. These happened to be on sale so we were able to get two coolers for just a little bit more money with them being so cheap. You have to watch for those sales and clearance items because they usually have good prices on them and that's what I always do. I would highly recommend these coolers.

Coleman coolers keep things cold

I used this cooler to bring back an entire frozen turkey (feathers and all) and a frozen turkey breast from Texas to NC.  It was an all-day trip (with a 3 hour connection in 85 degree DFW).  When I arrived home, both were still frozen and only about 20% of the packed ice had melted.  This performance exceeded my expectations for a modestly priced cooler.
Highly recommend!

Good durable classic design, I bought it for a Halloween party that was suppose to small but many people showed up. It was filled with many types of beverages, 2 twenty pounds of ice and 2 more small bags of ice and there was plenty more room for cold foods. This is awesome!

Good classic durability

The plastic and the parts are made alot cheaper now, no way it'll keep ice frozen for days, even when it's not summer hot temps. Be prepared to check it often and have extra ice on hand. But I'm too cheap to buy a yeti or a thicker brand. Get what you pay for

Won't keep ice for long

held ice well for 2.5-3 days. However, after sitting in the back of a work truck for a week the lids warped and don't seal. Taking them back.
