Offers many play features without added parts.

Ive purchased Lego across many  sub-themes, but this must be noticed as a standout!! The literal size feels like two feet long, but then it floats on water? Its getting into the realm of bizzare, with the photos on my review already showing modifications ive made. I could not wait before posting-that good and that spacious. What a cool color theme, with the contrasting blue and orange attracting your eyes to its grandness. Its not a normal set. The boat is the prize, but the addition of an Orca animal piece   the well designed mini figures makes this set stand out so so far beyond anything ive collected. It completely dwarfs everything else in its presence. This means it has two floors as well, a large cabin fitting three operators and a below deck space furnished down to a toilet. 100/10. This will go down in history.  (Keep in mind ive added more pieces to my pictures and your version will be standard until modified)

This thing is so awesome! My  year old and I built it over the course of a few days and each day it was something new and fun, and it was a blast to play with! The arctic sets are all really awesome and this is no exception. I only wish the helicopter rotors were more like the ones on the Police Prison Island set. This is something that's super minor and doesn't really effect the overall experience.

Fantastic Ship!

This ship is amazing! Excellent interior details, a moon pool, an inflatable raft, a helicopter and even a little ROV for exploring the ocean floor. This is what I call a playset. This set receives an A+ from the Brick Professor.

An Awesome Article Blast

Built this set with my son, it's been on both of our wish lists for a while. Definitely worth it. Still have yet to test the floating claim, but will do when it warms up.

Big fun build

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Bought this for my 6 year old. He was able to build it by himself. This was much larger than I thought. Some of the instruction is unclear and some parts once attached just keeps coming off. Overall, great Lego set and my son has enjoyed playing with it. And yes, it does float in the water.

Much larger than I expected!

this boat is very large and has a lot of play. the details are very nice and I love all the mini-figs  and all their great life like task in the set. now LEGO thank you. they did not have to ad all the extra like the diver minifig, the helicopter, the crane, and the submarine.but the list goes on. overall I definitely recommend this set. so, it is worth the money!

LEGO City Boat...But Is It Worth The Money

I bought this set for my grandson. He Loved it!  Very complete boat set!  Challenging but doable. Kind of pricey, but my grandson's joy when he received it was worth it!

Great set

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] It's a fantastic set and my cousin really enjoyed it. His face lit up as he opens the box and saw the boat and the Orca that was included in the set.

This gift arrived sooner than expected, and my son loved the experience of building it. He wanted a “big boat” and this definitely fit the bill. He can't wait for summer to watch it float.

Excellent Santa Surprise

I had originally talked myself out of buying this set. Then I went on an Alaska cruise and saw orcas, so this was too fitting to pass up. The set has loads of play features. Because of the large hulls and new orca piece, the set is expensive, overpriced, really. I'm glad I waited for double points and a GWP before buying it.
*The ship: This is LEGO's longest floating ship. It has a sleek, colorful, realistic design. The structures and interiors are very nice. The outside deck feels underequipped. I added accessories such as extra diving gear, a deep diving helmet, knives, snow shoes, a saw, and a surveillance drone with a hinged housing.
*The helicopter: It's cute and swooshable. Not realistic compared with real choppers on research vessels. I wouldn't want to ride in arctic air in an unenclosed cabin. It holds only one minifigure. No room for a passenger or cargo. I added storage boxes to the sides.
*The raft: It's suitable. Holds a driver and a scientist/photographer with two clips for equipment.
*The crane: Three of its four functions work well. It's very hard to tip up and down. There was surely a better, smoother design that used a worm gear or an actuator.
*The ROV: Simple but effective and realistic. It's a nice inclusion.
*The shipwreck: A little bigger like the wrecks in similar sets would've been nice, but this has neat colors and building techniques with cool sunken Viking gear.
