I actually purchased this jar for my mother. Even though it's not recommended for liquid use she used it to pickle eggs for Easter. The size of the jar was perfect, it held almost a full bottle of vinegar, 2 cans of beats and more than 2 dozen large eggs. I'm sure she'll use it again year after year. I'm definitely going to purchase another one for my sister since my entire family love those stinky eggs.

I broke my original jar. And was concerned that I would have to buy a whole set just to replace it. So I was so happy to find out that Walmart had just the one that I needed to replace. It's perfect.

Walmart to the rescue!

I had originally purchased this to put kitchen implements in but after ordering online and receiving I realized that it was too tall. I will instead use this for decorative purposes or for dry goods. I recommend the product.

Good product for storage.

I wanted to rid my house of all this plastic and these worked out well for rice and flour.  It has a rubber seal on the lid so somewhat air free.   They are kind of pricey but it is the right size for what I was doing,

RICE AND FLOUR

Size DOES matter… ESPECIALLY when the description of items are 98% exactly the same EXCEPT for the size of each option. While all the other specifications are incredibly detailed %26 organized, you have to HUNT for any indication of item's size. Some options use ounces to indicate size while others options- even options from the same manufacture- use milliliters %26 other confusing specification inconsistencies such as that. I'm not 100% positive why or when I purchased my first set of Mason Jars (I do know it was NOT bc I do not make homemade fruit preserves or anything remotely along those lines) but not only did they work for whatever reason I made that first purchase but since then I find MORE %26 MORE uses for them.

Great Product- Confusing Description

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Prices have gone up so much. Walmart use to be pretty cheap in comparison to other places but now it's gone up and the prices are about the same but the quality hasn't improved that much.

WORKS FOR MANY THINGS, BUT IT'S MEASUREMENTS ARE IN ERROR IT IS: 6X6X10.5 WHICH WILL NOT FIT SPAGHETTI NOODLES. 
BUT IT WORKED GREAT FOR OTHER KINDS OF NOODLES, FLOOR, SUGAR, ETC.
YOU CAN USE THEM FOR CANNING LARGE AMOUNTS OF SOUP OR SAUCES.
WHEN STORING NOODLES PUT A BAY LEAF IN JAR TO KEEP BUGS OUT %26 AN OXYGEN PACK TO KEEP FOR LONG STORAGE.

LOVE BALL PRODUCTS***BUT

I bought this jar to make sun tea in but it has warnings on it that this jar is for decorative use only, because of the metal lid,don't know whether to return it or try and find a plastic replacement lid….all the large jars for lemonade or tea have those built in pour spouts that ALWAYS leak…that's why I thought this large jar was perfect for my tea but looks like I was wrong !

With all the warning stuck on the glass with gooey adhesive very difficult to remove, it is not a very pleasant product.   Among the warnings, go somewhere to a site for chemicals, don't use it for canning, the Ball label is only "licensed" for use and not an indicator of manufacturer, and "use for decorative purposes" or "for dry materials".   So .. difficult to trust it with much.

Removing the gallon GLASS Ball jar I noticed what appeared to be a scratched or scraped spot on the side of the jar,  but at further examination theres a tiny break behind the scraped area in the jar. Can I get a jar with no blemishes please as this jar was to become a decorative gift that will house heavy material. Thank you!
