I was introduced to this tea kettle at my place of employment. normally if I wanted a cup of tea I would have to get the hot water out of the urn which trickled. it was like watching paint dry. One day I came into the lunchroom area and I saw this tea kettle. I didn't even know how to use it but it was pretty self-explanatory. I had been looking for one because I don't like heating my tea up in the microwave. it's always a guessing game. so when I saw this tea kettle I tried it out. I just grabbed it dumped out the water that was in it and put in some water to a certain level and then set it back on the little platform and hit the start button. you can hear it making heating up noises that kind of remind you of a Keurig maker. within a minute or two you have boiling hot water. I can't say enough about it. I've looked at a lot of ones on the internet, but it seems that stainless steel is the best way to go on these types of things, you really can't go wrong on that. there are some kettles out there that seem to have a lot of fancy things on them, but this one does what you needed to do, heat water. I would highly recommend this to anybody looking for a nice looking tea kettle. The nicest feature that I think at least one of them is the fact that when you lift it up off the platform there's no wire attached so it's free to walk across the room with it and pour into your cup or right there where you are, either way, it works great! PS, I apologize for the beginning of my sentence is not having capitalization, but I did this with voice recognition and for some reason it didn't capitalize it.

Our tea kettle finally bit the dust, and at the worst time (while we were sick.) We wanted a kettle FAST so we could enjoy a cup of hot tea. Between looking on Amazon and Walmart - we settled on the Hamilton Beach kettle. It was an easy decision and Walmart would deliver it to my door that same evening. It was super simple to follow the directions to run water through it a few times and BAM you've got tea. 
It heats up very quickly, so you can enjoy whatever drink you desire! We have used it nonstop since getting it. It takes less than a minute to boil the water, and I love the feature of turning off when it's completely boiled so it doesn't burn the water or the kettle. 
I definitely recommend this kettle!

Tea in a FLASH

This is my second Hamilton Beach electric kettle. The first one lasted almost ten years and the only reason I replaced it was because the mesh filter in the spout no longer stayed in place. The mesh filter on this new model is much sturdier and unlikely to come off. Other than that, it works the same. The window showing how much water is inside is especially helpful. Heats water super fast.

High quality for reasonable price

Super useful in kitchen, for hot drinks and for soaking dishes.  Unsure about the hard plastic parts and heat-thus 4 stars. i wish manufacturers would be more clear and forthcoming about the safety of the plastics used where it comes into contact with food, with and without heat. Labeling siad BPA free, so am hopeful.

Electric Kettle

I love it, I stopped using a regular coffee maker due to the heating up the plastic. So I try to cut out things where I can I use this to heat up the water for my French press I will never go back thank you Hamilton Beach even my 19-year-old daughter uses it for her tea.. The price was amazing price as well!

LOVE IT!!!

Heats up fast, has a flip up lid that I like. Its a little bit in the way for cleaning, but I still prefer the hinged lid instead of the usual removable lid. The plastic window is holding up good so far. I like the small size, doesn't take up too much counter space.

All around good performer.

I wouldn't buy this again. The unit makes no sound after the water boils. The measurements on the side are in liters. How many Americans think in terms of the metric system? The only good thing is that it's fast.

There was a thick oily yellow residue on the inside when I received it.  I wiped it out and washed it with soap and water, rinsed it, boiled a number of pots full of water in it, boiled a pot full of water with vinegar in it and then a number of pots full of water in it, boiled a pot full of water with baking soda in it and then a number of pots full of water in it.  Nothing removes the bad taste it imparts to beverages made with its heated water.  Do not buy.

Terrible taste

Nice looking and compact, but leaked from the bottom! Water went all over the heating element and floor, very dangerous!
