I purchased this based on it looks like some of the other online and was cheaper, as the other reviews said, it is actually pretty powerful and did the job well. the grass catcher fill up quickly in like 2' but either leave it off or let it keep dumping out and plan on raking up grass. the maneuvering is a bit clumsy, not a deal breaker.  So overall, I would recommend this product.

I purchased this item for the same price as renting one.
So far, I've used it on 3 lawns plus my own.
It works very well..matter of fact I was surprised as to how well it tackled all the lawns.
The only downside is having enough extension cords on hand.
Otherwise I am totally satisfied with this item
The item arrived several days earlier than predicted so that's a big plus in my book

Very satisfied

I was hesitant about the product initially but it really did a far better job than I was ever expecting.  The chassis is obviously plastic and it is a bit loud but it's powerful.  I wish the hopper was larger due to the amount of thatch that I had but I expect that the thatch will be less next year.

Very happy with this purchase! My yard had so many holes and divots and this significantly helped smooth it out and pull up all the problem areas of dead grass. Cannot recommend enough!

Works like a charm

Very compact but powerful for Dethatching the lawn of dead grass. Comes with two blades, one for Dethatching and the other for loosening dirt. Has powerful electric motor, comes with collection bag, easy to assemble the handle assembly, comes with user manual and the collapsible handle makes it compact enough to store in limited space in your garage or storage space. Also handle has a safety lever to start and stop motor. The only dislikes is it needs an extension cord to run and the motor is a little loud, but other then that it a good product and save me time when I need to Dethatch the lawn.

This works great and is small enough to be lightweight.  We have 1/3 acre and did all the lawn.
It helped to get rid of thatch and our lawn looks the best it has ever looked.  I would recommend.

Worked Great!

used it to remove dead grass before replanting of new grass.made a hard job ez . then detach the remaining of the old grass. for the price would definitely by the item again.

This worked great for getting rid of the thatch.  The bag is small and does fill up fast, but if it was much larger it might be hard to handle when emptying.  Reseeded after and the regrowth is already looking great!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Very happy with this purchase. Very easy to assemble, very easy to change rollers and easy to use. It did a great job and my grass is starting to grow. The only negative is the bag attachment is too small. I didn't care because I didn't want to rake. I filled 13 large garden bags for my property of 56x93. I was really amazed at how much it picked up. I never could have done this with a rake. It exceeded my expectations. Good luck.

Recommend it

I use a classic REEL mower, so the grass clippings always fall back on my lawn. They say it's actually good for the lawn, adding nutrients to the soil, which I do believe. However, when the grass gets too high and is cut, the clippings are large and led to a lot of dead grass between the healthy grass.

After using this dethatcher, I was shocked to see just how much dead grass there was. Just one pass on a 50 foot lawn filled the bag with old, dead grass and revealed much of the dirt between my growing grass. Didn't realize just how thin my lawn coverage was. So now I know I need to fully seed and fertilize my lawn again and hopefully fill the bald spots.

Assembly was quick and using it was easy. One common complaint is the bag fills up VERY quickly, so be prepared to constantly empty it. A larger bag/catcher would be better, but I was ok with emptying it often. One thing to note, is it did tear up my yard a bit. It pulls in the dead grass, but it will also pull in some live grass and beat up the live grass on the ground. I did it right before the summer, but regret it since it's SoCal cold weather grass and didn't have time to recover before the summer heatwave hit. Next time, I think I'll wait until just before spring and seed/fertilize right after. That way the grass can full recover and grow much fuller.

Overall, I'm happy with the purchase and recommend it to anyone concerned about layers of dead grass within their lawn.
