I already had the XL model but decided to buy a second unit so I could have another for my camper.  I saw that there was a new model so I took the plunge!  The unit arrived when expected according to shipping information.  The quality is well above average.  This item adds tons of convenience in the kitchen and saves me a lot of time.  All features work as advertised (I have not had a chance to use the dehydrate feature yet).  As camping season comes to an end, I look forward to simply having the 2nd unit in my kitchen.  I can grill/griddle on one and utilize the air fryer in the other to speed up my meals even more!  Overall an excellent product that is well worth the purchase.

I have the previous model and I loved it, now I have this newer model and I love it even better. It does make a bit more noise when you first start it up but it settles down and goes away in a short bit.
The knob on front was the best idea.
The Griddle is really awesome too.
Only real complaint is cleaning all the inside parts that are not nonstick.

Better product

We have had this for a couple of weeks.  My only complaint is how few recipes came with it.  After looking online for a book, I find they are all for other models and warn to “adjust to the model you have”.  Obviously, as a new user, I have no idea what that adjustment should be.

Learning

Overall I like my ninja grill.  I originally had the 6 in 1 and decided to upgrade. Well.  The grill pan is better, but I'm missing the true roasting pan that the 6 in 1 had. This definitely needs an add on. The machine could be a bit taller to allow for things like a prime rib roast.  There just isn't enough space to allow for roasting. Otherwise, this machine has completely eliminated my need for an oven and stove top.

Needs some improvements

The grill and griddle slop down to allow the oil to drain in the trough. However, I feel it's a design flaw as your food also slips forward making grill lines near impossible. The griddle is so shallow that sauté veggies or meat is difficult because it falls out of the pan when you stir or flip your food. I've seen other YouTubers put cutting boards under the front legs to try and correct for these problems. I returned mine. I already own five Ninjas and love them but this one needs some re-engineering

Not so good

The instructions are a bit convoluted, not real clear on how to use the manual settings without the thermometer. They even contradict themselves. One area of the instructions states to put setting on high for burgers and another section states to set it on medium. Burgers did not cook to the set temp. Not too impressed with the smart grill. Definitely not worth the money

Not as simple to use as they make it sound

I purchased this item with the hopes of having it preform as advertised.  I received it and tried to use it several different times (using the built-in thermometer) using the included booklet as guidance. This product did not work the way it was explained.  Very dissatisfied and have returned the item for refund.  Very disappointed because my husband and I were both looking forward to the convivence of the product.

1. Food slides down into the grease bin.
2. No live chat or anything to ask questions .
3. Only people you can actually talk to ate in another country,  speak poor English and say they can not transfer or let you talk to a supervisor.  More then one phone call .
4. Because of this I have sent it back...
5. It is supposed to make cooking easier and the grill definitely made it harder.

Did not care for it.

I have several foodie gadgets including the xl grill. When I seen this model advertised I immediately ordered it. I finally got a chance to open it and first thing I noticed was that the grill has a built in slant of about 3/8". It was obvious to me that this is so the grease runs off the grill plate. Fast forward to tonight when I tried to grill chicken legs the legs wouldnt stay on the grill and would slide in to the grease tray! I had to prop something under the feet so the grill would be level. I am very disappointed especially because I didnt need this new grill. With the slant of the grill and the slickness of the surface I cant see any food not sliding off.

Food slides off!

I returned the Grill unused as it was much too heavy (22 lbs.with grill plate installed) and cumbersome. The dimensions were listed in the specs however, if the weight was listed, I missed it. Also the lack of side handles was a negative considering the weight. The photo was accurately depicted. When I requested a return authorization, it was processed immediately. No complaints on customer service. Just not a good product for my needs.
