Our daughter has the autoimmune condition of type 1, insulin dependency. It's not something that you can cure (yet!) or prevent. It is a lot for a little child to endure and so having a Barbie that “beeps” and has medical devices like her has been a gift to our family. Love the inclusion!

I'm a Barbie collector and a Type 1 diabetic who uses a pump and cgms. Glad to see Mattel make a doll for kids with this difficult disease. T1D  are always lumped into the same category as T2D. Both are very different and it's life altering for a child and adults

I really wanted my daughter to get used to the idea of diversity and people who had diabetes or perhaps who struggled with certain things that she doesn't have to deal with so I like how they design this Barbie she doesn't play with it as much and she's not really sure what it is, but it's just getting her used to the idea of people that have type one or perhaps type two diabetes so I think that's a great idea

The Barbie is beautiful. I had no idea she was the diabetic barbie when I purchased her for my great granddaughter for Christmas. After a quick laugh at me it was decided that she was a Barbie for every little girl.

A Barbie for every girl

My 9yr old granddaughter who has Type 1 diabetes was thrilled to get it. It has the same medical devices as her. I love the concept inclusive dolls for the girls and boys who have different medical issues.

This is perfect for my granddaughter who has type 1 diabetes. I like that Barbie is being more inclusive and normalizing special situations. Arrived in good condition. It is a gift for my granddaughter.

Being diagnosed with T1D 40 years ago at the age of 10, I could only dream of having a T1D Barbie … never imagined one with an insulin pump. I purchased this for the inner child in me 💙.  Thank you Mattel for the inclusivity for the kids who live with T1D and those of us who are kids at heart. The Barbie came in perfect condition.

Box was in great condition. The doll is absolutely affordable. I love this doll. It shows how having these monitors are nothing to hide. Thank you for making this doll available for purchase. I love the shoes. Not only is this doll a diabetic but she wears shoes that i love.

Mattel did a good job representing a person with Type 1 diabetes and the technology they must use to live a healthy life.

Type 1 Barbie!

I was disappointed that the price basically tripled after Mattel announced the release of the doll. 

I do like the idea of supporting the Type 1 Diabetes community and bringing awareness to others. 

May all children affected with this challenging disease learn to successfully manage it with confidence.

Sorry for the low rating, but this item has been opened… The description said nothing about it being opened. The bottom is ripped and the tape on top literally had hair on it. I just expected and actually NEW one, especially for the price.
