This is the third one of these shavers I have purchased. They last a long time and shave your face well. when you replace the shaver head, after a year or so, there are sites you can order the little plastic pegs that drive the blades. Do that and you will get years out of this shaver.

I have been using disposable or safety razors for most of my life, and never felt the need for an electric razor until now. But being in my late 80's, and having some hand tremors which increased the possible risk of cutting myself, I decided to give one a try. 

The first thing I noticed is there are a lot of electric razors to choose from, so I started reading all the reviews, and one razor with a reasonable price that seemed to be liked by lots of folks is the Braun series 3 proskin. It doesn't have a bunch of extras or a head that swivels in every direction, just the basics, which was all I wanted. 

The marketing of electric razors seems similar to selling blenders or microwave ovens, full of features that in real life most folks don't care about. Owning a high end electric razor is like having a 500 blade Swiss Army knife when all you want to do is whittle a little bit. 

After using the Braun for a little over 3 weeks, my impression is that it's easy to use, very convenient, and a real time saver. The question many folks probably have is how well it performs compared to a good safety razor. My opinion is it doesn't shave as close and smooth as my vintage Gellette fat boy from the late 40's. I expected that prior to buying an electric razor, but I no longer have the risk of cutting myself so I'm not disappointed. 

I did find that applying a good skin balm afterwards greatly reduces the chances of irritation when shaving dry with an electric razor. 

I can't compare the Braun Proskin to other electric razors, because I can't remember the last time I owned one, but it seems to do the job, which is all I wanted. 

Overall I'm happy with my purchase, and would recommend it to others.

Nice Basic Razor That Does The Job

I shaved with straight replacable razors and cream for over 25 years. My first electric razor, not this one, was awful, dull, could not clean shave. I read reviews fir this and people said it was the last answer in shaving. They are right. If you are not fully bushed it clean shaves short growth very very well. The blade lasts on the order of years anx it holds a goid charge. Worth every penny, I love this razor. Ot hax a trimmer end for hairs too long for the mesh blade. Excellent product. Thank you walmart.

For me, this Braun S3 is a fine razor. I have no need to spend hundreds on a razor when this one works great. I use it to shave my head as well and as long as I don't wait too many days it does a very nice job. I really appreciate a company that designs an affordable razor with the suggested blade replacement of every 18 months and not every few months with a subscription.

Good quality, durable razor

The Braun Series 3 ProSkin 3040s Rechargeable Wet Dry Men's Electric Shaver with Precision Trimmer is the best shaver I have ever owned.  I am very happy with it and I am happy that it was made in Germany.  Thank you Walmart for selling such a fine product.

Great Shaver!!!

Works effectively for trimming facial hair and providing a quick shave. It delivers a smooth shave with minimal irritation and is easy to wash after use. Compact and lightweight, making it ideal for travel, but I wouldn't rely on it for daily grooming. I prefer a traditional razor shave over an electric shaver for everyday use.

I had the original Braun, very basic shaver, for several years but it started BITING me.  I have nothing against Braun because everything wears with time.  This new Braun shaver is fantastic !  It gives an even closer shave than the 1st Braun I had !  Coupled with the beard trimmer and a longer battery time, I'd recommend it to anybody, especially if on a budget !

I have never had an electric shaver, just blade shavers.. so, first shave with this....AMAZING ... this thing is incredible...it is very easy on your face, and that's a dry shave.... charged quickly, holds a charge, close shave, and easy to shave my neck... I found my shaver...

This shaver works EXCELLENT on the first try, even gets the peach fuzz!  I am going to buy one for my dad for his birthday..

PERFECT AND PERSICE!

if you could get by without a charging cleaning station, and don't mind a motor which isn't as powerful as the series 9, this series 3 shaver is a great value. I have had several of these over the past 10 years or so, and I've found that on average day last between two and three years if you treat the battery well and replacement parts are easy to find. even better it has a on a switch that won't fall apart after a year of use as compared to the series 9, which is what happened to me and is why I am replacing that unit with this one. so for about 20% of the cost of a series 9, you can get this unit which will do just as well as a job of shaving and will likely last you longer than one, five times the price. Strange isn't it?

Best overall value for bronze shavers.

Does not shave very well. Spend 15  minutes shaving my facial stubble each morning and evening and still does not cut all the beard stubble.

Not worth the money
