I bought this after frustrations with “cool” humidifiers and using the old fashioned vaporizer that was either “off” or “on”.  With respiratory issues - I need “warm” and living in a dry area I need to be able to regulate the level of humidity in my bedroom. This unit has everything!   The “cool” one left a white film on everything and I was breathing it in too!  AND love that this has a timer on it!  I can start it before bed and turns off a couple hours later!  It's awesome!  Wish I hadn't wasted my money on the “cool” humidifiers.  Will be purchasing another one!

I ordered the product online and it was delivered in a timely way. When I opened up the package, the product which looked perfect did not work. It wouldn't even turn on! This is my first bad experience with a Homedics product. Everything that I ordered in the past worked perfectly. I have since returned this bad one for a replacement. I am waiting to see what happens next. How fast does Homedics honor its return policy?

One bad apple?

Ok so I am extremely unhappy. I used this once when I first got it and now a few weeks later I plugged it in for just the second time- and it started on fire. Smoke was pouring out everywhere. I am EXTREMELY lucky I didn't just plug it in and walk away or my house would have burned done. I want my money back because there is no way I would trust another one of these in my house around my family.

Mine started on fire on the second use

We've had this about 9 months and we love how it functions, but the design is a little sketchy.  We recently had issues with it leaking from below the tank, and I spent a few days figuring out the issue.  I found that the plunger that allows water into the base reservoir from the tank wasn't sealing properly.  When you filled the tank it was still dripping water when closed which was allowing the reservoir to overfill.  So I thoroughly cleaned the upper seal and the base of the plunger itself and the leak has now stopped.

In the end, I think it was my fault for not cleaning it when the light came on, but I also feel like the design shouldn't allow a whole tank of water to drain out onto your carpet just because the thing isn't clean.
