This is my third Coleman tent of this design over 50 years of camping. I went from a 4-person tent to a 6-person tent the second time and loved the fact that my family of four could all fit in and that my husband and I can stand up in it. Now that I am a "senior" camper, it has become a 2-person tent with two big cots and plenty of space to stow stuff away. We've stayed dry in this tent even in some pretty heavy rains and it's simple to set up and take down. I love this tent.

Arrived in good condition with all pieces. Easy to set up, spacious interior. Family of 2 adults, 2 kids under age 15 spent 2 nights in it with no rain or challenging weather and it held up just fine. Seems like this will be a great family tent moving forward.

Great family tent

Our 6-person tent is perfect for my 4 person family. I'm 5'10" and can stand up completely in the center. It's 10ftx10ft in length and width. Very easy to set up as it's a 2 pole tent. This makes camping a breeze for my small family. The kids love it too.

Great Tent For The Budget

While I was camping it poured down rain.  I did not put a tarp over my tent as I would normally would do.  Instead, I said to myself I am going  to trust my tent.  The next morning, myself and all of my belongings in the tent were bone dry!!  Thank you

6 person tent

I bought this tent for dispersal camping in locations that aren't as accomodating for an rv.  I admit I've gotten spoiled with the rv so wanted something large enough to put an air mattress.  You can easily fit a queen air mattress in here and still have room for bags, etc.

Spacious and easy to set up.

We got a chance to camp at San Bernardino last week. The tent looked sturdy enough and it was easy to set up/take down. Few inches smaller than advertised, so plan your bed size accordingly - we were able to fit in one queen and one full air mattresses (18 inches). Two pockets were very helpful. Luckily it didn't rain, but it was quite cold in the night and there's no option to even partially close the ventilation windows.

Nice tent - worth the money

Had a previous version made for poles into the door to make it rigid. I liked that and wished this model had that. I like the ventilation through the sides under the rain tarp. It would be nice if that could zip closed from the inside like the other screen windows for the cooler nights when someone might want to trap more heat into the tent. Otherwise I like the tent a lot and it is very simple to set up. I can set it up on my own and even with a 3-year old who wants to help.

Camping is intense / in tents.

One of the things I like about this tent is that it's easy to assemble. It's spacious; a double or queen inflatable mattress fits, but 6 people would be very uncomfortable.It feels like good quality, as is generally the case with products from this brand. It has large windows that allow for ventilation. It is relatively lightweight for transport. I recommend storing it in a cool place to preserve the tent materials. You should keep in mind that if it rains moderately, it will filter the water.This is a common problem with tents due to their design and construction.

I have only used the tent twice, but so far I like the tent.  One night it rained very hard and I am happy to say my tent stayed dry.  It is pretty easy to set up by myself.  Not super happy with the clips that attach to the poles.  Hard to clip on and take off.  My concern is they will break after time.  Hopefully I am wrong.  Also I will the pole for the rainfly I wish was not in the middle. I am fairly tall and have to watch so I don't hit my head.  I am happy with the tent and am glad I bought it despite my minor comments.

I bought 17 of these for the National Scout Jamboree.  Of the 17, the shock cord immediately broke (on first assembly) on one pole, and by the third assembly maybe half had had one ferrule fall off of the end of a pole, or ready to fall off. (So about one quarter of all main poles - and we lost one of them.)  None of these were catastrophic for us - we fixed the broken shock cord, and the ferrules fell off after the trip.  However, had the shock cord break been in a different place, or had we lost a ferrule before or during the trip, it could have been bad.

Taking a longer view, my troop has had two of these and a  dozen or so Sundome 3s.  Most of the originals have died after maybe eight to ten years and eighty to a hundred trips.  They fail in two places:  the ferrules wear holes in the pole sleeves, and the main door zippers fail.  That's not counting the occasional splintered pole segment; those can be replaced.  We've probably had one or two splintered pole segments per tent.

If I had to pick a single thing to improve, it would be to make the zippers more robust.  That's what's finally killed ours.

Note:  We're in Southern California.  We pretty much never camp in the rain, so don't have significant information on leaking.  This last trip to West Virginia had a number of rainstorms and we didn't have any problems, but we did preemptively apply seam sealer just in case.

Net:  they're pretty solid, but keep some spare shock cord and ferrules on hand, and for the long run learn to replace pole segments.  Remember that one of our failures was on first assembly.
