mine did not come with a lid for thing you put coffee beans in, i just held hand over i make 6 cup or less i'm sure anything could be used as lid. you must push down on hopper to get it to start

Works great and doesn't take up much counter space! Can be a little messy because of the static electricity that builds up on the plastic hopper during the grind, and a little access will dribble out when you remove the hopper. That's perfectly understandable and doesn't bother me! A great little machine at a great price!

All is great about this except I am not really pleased with the grind selection. I get a fine grind, almost a powder, regardless of how low or high I set the grind to. So I have to adjust the amount each time I grind. But that being said, it still is a good product for the money.

It is an amazingly quiet grinder. Much, much quieter than the one it is replacing. The only frustration we have with it is that the vibration of the grinding causes the fine/coarse adjustment wheel to move resulting in a gradual increase in grind size.

But, overall we are quite happy with the grinder.

Nice looking grinder. Tried it with one whole bean bag of coffee. I thought coffee tasted good but my wife didn't like the way it performed.   It was a little messy. And if you didn't do it just right it could make a big mess.  We did this for about 6 weeks but couldn't overcome the mess that it made with coffee being ground.

I have no problem with how the product works as it is grinding great. It's compact and easy to use. The reason for the low score is I waste so much of the grinds trying to remove the container from the grinder. Grinds get everywhere in my kitchen because of this thing.they blow out the back of the container. Stick to the top etc. I would recommend finding one with a glass container and not plastic with static.

Compaired to a hand burr grinder I had previously, this is not better.

The grinds are very inconsistent, in fact even on the most coarse setting you get a very fine powder at first that can effect the final flavor of the coffee. 

As for cleaning, it is very difficult. the capture basket doesn't sit flush enough to the grinder outlet so there can be tiny specks of coffee flying out of the gaps.

I only suggest getting this if  You are in need of a quick cheap "Burr" grinder.

It's plastic construction and it got pretty hot when we ground up our 1st cup (unit's cup) of beans. We started in the middle thinking we would get a medium grind, but it was VERY fine. Gonna pay the extra $20 to replace the cuisinart. It lasted almost 10 years, but the burr is worn.

Even on the coarsest setting, the grind is still finer than the coffee I buy prepackaged in the grocery store for my drip pot.  Cannot get a coarse grind for my French press.

Grinds everything to a powder

This grinder looks nice but it's not nice when it comes to functionality, coffee grounds always spill as it's grinding and the coffee beans don't come down into the blades smoothly so it doesn't actually grind the right amount because of this, returning this item
