I've been using this Palmer's Scar Serum off/on for nearly 20 yrs.
I'm a black female who's been diagnosed with discoid lupus (which is a form of skin cancer) and  the serum has really helped to eliminate the hard scabs from my melanin skin.
I've also recently been diagnosed with stasis dermatitis and it has helped with the appearance  of the scarring of the skin as well.

I am a medium brown complexion and prone to dark spots from scarring. I got a cystic pimple on my chin. It was large, painful, and would not come to a head. This is a problem area for me. I gave in and squeezed it. Once I cleared the area I cleansed it with the palmers toner(yes it tingles), then the complexion bar. I then followed with this serum. I repeated using these 3 palmers products for 3 weeks. No dark spot was left, it only scabbed a pinkish tone that slowly got smaller, and then fell off revealing new clear skin. No long lasting dark spot.

I had a scar on my hip since I was a child, then a recent hip replacement surgery.  The 1 year hip replacement scar looks better and less visible than the scar from 30years ago with the use of this serum.  You do have to continue utilizing it but it's worth it.

Works wonders

I bought this on a whim. Because I have small acne scarring on my face, I decided to try it there. Woke up to snatched skin. Literally my face felt tighter. This serum is very thick so be cognizant of the consistency. This serum seems to soften fine lines and wrinkles on the face. To maximize the benefits, at night I wash my face, place a warm cloth over my face, apply the serum by blotting it into the skin with finger tips onto damp skin, then seal the application with castor oil. Castor oil softens skin as well.

Love Palmers & have used for most of my adult life as I'm very allergic to mineral oil and to petroleum. Scar serum is EXCELLENT. My Hawaiian childhood has made me have skin cancer surgery yearly the past few years  & just recently I had a LOT of my nose done. After the wounds closed, I applied the serum beneath bandages to keep them moist & to prevent the scarring that can come with scabs. Still applying day & night to great results now bandages gone, scars fade daily! My only complaint is that the top join leaks when pushed to dispense product, not much but enough to have to wipe it off before putting away so that it doesn't stay sticky. Too bad because tiny dispenser perfectly puts right amounts on Qtips or small bandaids. 
Highly recommend for those with allergies and for children.

I have some new scars that I was hoping wouldn't become permanent.  The product I was using did seem to work but not very well.  Thought I'd try this one but it's so sticky that it was unpleasant even after it dried.  To be fair, I haven't used it since so I cannot comment at to its efficacy but since it's from a trusted brand, I'd like to imagine it would work to help diminish scars.
