The Panasonic U-Shape Steam/Dry Iron offers a curved titanium soleplate. Pressure is applied at the centre of the iron so there is less drag at the tip. The unique U-shape soleplate is longer than a conventional iron, making ironing faster. The mercury-free electronic sensor shuts off the iron if it is left on for more than 10 minutes in an upright position.

I bought this iron after my super-basic iron stopped working. I would've replaced it a lot sooner had I known the steam blast feature worked so well. I really like the self storing cord. I have used it a few times already for work clothes. So far I haven't found any shortcomings after using this iron. Greatly recommended for someone with lots of dress shirts and the like.

Works excellently

This iron is fabulous. It heats fast, it is easy to handle, has so many functions including steamer with no ironing. And the best is the retractable power cord. I just wish it had a wider resting base to give it more stability on the ironing board.

Best iron ever

I bought this item over a year ago, and there still isn't anything stuck to the iron platting. I've never had to clean gunk off of it at all and all the features listed, they make ironing go so much faster! The steam really does eliminate the need for a spray bottle (something I always dropped anyways) The retractable cord is quite a blessing also. I hated wrapping the cord around the already cool iron (the last one I had, had a very long cool down period) then stashing it away. Now I just gotta push a button and let it cool down.

Love this iron. Powerful steam. Cord retractor is amazing feature. Vertical steam is strong. Nice weight, smooth glide. So impressed I bought one for a friend already as a gift.

Used a lot of irons in my 60yrs (good and bad)and this is the best by far. The steam and retractable cord features are awesome. The $30 price is amazing and I have paid a lot more for worse irons.

Best ever

Love this iron. it glides over the clothes and it has the shut off switch which is a must in our house. It is unusual to look at and the cord gets tucked back inside it so no loose cords hanging around.
