I bought this to replace my old homedics handheld massager when it finally bit the dust this last month after years of use and I bought it second hand to boot. 
this thing is fabulous it does everything that the other one did, but it's lighter weight, has an easier handle to hold And actually provides heat which my old one did not.

This is the best massager for the money. I have been using these for years for my whole body.
I use it first thing in the morning and it helps to loosen me up.  I am a senior and I need all the help I can get.

I got my first HoMedics percussion massager over 20 years ago.  I use it almost everyday until it dies, then upgrade with the current model.  This is my 4th one.  It's got some of the heft of the 1st one, which is nice (they kept getting lighter for a while, which meant they lost some of their oomph).  I was initially unsure of the loop on the end of the handle, but have found it useful when reaching that spot between my spine and shoulder blade.  On the whole, these massagers tend to last several years, and I'm happy with their lifespan.  I'm not real careful with the power cord, and that's usually what winds up malfunctioning for me.  If I was more cautious about twisting the cord during use, I might still be on my 2nd or 3rd one, but 4 of these over the span of over 20 years isn't bad, IMO.

Won't Be Without One

This is a decent massager for the price.  However, the original one I purchased many years ago was of better quality.  I found that the heat function does not get as hot as I would like, but it did the job.

Good massager for the price

It's a great massager, I've had a couple of them . The last one lasted a month, the first one was the best one lasted about4 yrs, helped with blood flow in forearms and legs, used also on lower back. It helped loosen up tense muscles

Massage worked

After only a couple months the body of massager completly came apart from the handle and became very noisy. luckily we had purchased insurance which refunded us the purchase price.

Falls Apart

Something inside the massager started sputtering and rattling that weakened the percussions after only a month and a half of use. I went back to using my at least 10 year old  Homedics massager that beats stronger. The problem with it is that only four of the control pad buttons still work and not the ones I like.

The massage heads would stop working when the heat was turned on. Then it started sputtering a week later and completely stopped working only 2 weeks after I received it.  I read several other customer reviews with the similar problems but I ignored them because I was desperate for relief from my back pain.  I owned two of Homemedic's older models going back to at least 2010 and they lasted many years. Those obviously were made much better than this new version.  So I bought a used older model on eBay that works great.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY

push button on off speeds ,you have to scroll through all speeds to turn off, has a stupid timer supposed to be 15 minutes, id haven't checked it but would be surprised if it is more than 10 minutes, and once it shuts off,it won't come back on until you scrool through the speeds to off and then wait some minutes before it will start again, and if you don't scroll through and shut it off, it never does restart until you go through the process, and if you didn't wait long enough you may only get a few seconds of run time, just too much hassle for a few minutes of working time, junk massager,never buy another Homedics

My 20 year old homedics twin percussion massager broke while i tried to fix the frayed wire inside the handle. I decided to try the new junk. Out of the box the assembly quality is complete trash. Gaps between plastic pieces, attachments don't screw on like with the old model, but snap and twist. The motor on the highest setting is 1/3 the power of the old original massager. The rubber insulation catches on clothes fabric. Heat????? HEAT???? Are you out of your mind, homedics engineers and executives????!!!! It heats up from the friction but the fake IR tips never got even warm enough. Maybe it takes an hour to heat up but then the friction and vibration alone would disintegrate this china junk. Absolutely hate it. Will contact homedics if they make something without the BS heat and powerful like the original. If they don't make one anymore, i'll look into other brands. My original massager was $20 and lasted 20 years. Would've lasted more if i didn't accidentally damage the brittle pcb while fixing the frayed wire.  This overpriced landfill trash is going back and i won't touch anything Homedics branded again until they make good quality powerful twin head percussion massager.
