The generic brand cream cheese doesn't have the Philidelphia texture or flavor, but it isn't all that bad. But whenever I can afford to, I always go for Philidelphia Creem Cheese.

I love Philadelphia Cream cheese, I put it on my bagels, I bake Cheese Cake. you can make so many different things with this. like here's a Recipe for a dip for Fresh fruit. soften (2) 8 oz cream cheese and add a jar fluffy. it's marshmallow in a jar.  whip it together , and put it in the fridge , to chill, then before your company comes, put it in a bowl, with grapes. cut up. honey dew, Strawberrys, any kind of fruit with toothpicks. it's delicious.

I buy maybe half name brand and half generic/store brand items. Philadelphia cream cheese is one that I always go for the name brand. I've tried the Great Value and other store brands by themselves and in recipes and they just don't work as well or taste as good. Consistency and flavor are perfect - it's "The" cream cheese IMO

Philadelphia is better than generic / store brand

Hands down the only cream cheese I'll use if I'm making a real sour cream cheese cake.  I've used this and the off brand before and the diff in the cheesecake is hands down a noticable diff with the Philly.
The price could stand a small deduction if you ask me but it is a great quality and noticeable diff when cooking with Philly 

just snacking, any cream cheese if fine with me and I don't really notice such a difference as when making a real sour cream cheese cake.

There's no other brand that beats Philadelphia. It's creamy and smooth. I've tried off brand cream cheese in recipes before, and it turned out chunky. If your making something that calls for cream cheese, look no further than this brand. It never fails to turn out great every time.

Best Quality Cream Cheese

Philadelphia Cream Cheese has always been the same delicious taste for all the years I have been using it. The consistency is just perfect for all of the different ways it can be used from packing celery sticks to complicated recipes calling for cream cheese. It's simply the best.

I like everything about it.  Philadelphia Cream Cheese is the best cream cheese .  Great flavor, texture and it spreads easily.    I love to put it on bagels.  I ve learned not to trust any other brand when making a cheese cake.   Its consistently good.

The best cream cheese

LOVE Philadelphia Creamed Cheese and I've used this product for years.  I have never felt the need to use any other cream cheese.  F.Y.I. I order my groceries twice a month.  I did a comparison between Walmart  and two of the major chains...I save a approximately $120 on every order I buy at Walmart .

Forever the best. Don't change flavor, just packaging. Those foil-wrapped bricks are only good until opened; then the cheese has to be put in something else if you want quality to the end. I have bought my favorite cream cheese in other containers, but it is generally a spiced-up offering, not original.  I am single. If I were feeding a clan, the wrapper wouldn't matter

This is largely my fault for not realizing that the foil wrapped cream cheese is intended for baking, but I would not recommend this for anyone buying cream cheese as a spread for bagels, etc. The ingredients Philadelphia uses for the blocks v. the tubs are slightly different, and I find that the blocks will go bad almost immediately after opening even if resealed in a ziplock bag. The tubs seem to last significantly longer once opened and are a better value if used as a spread. Even though the sticker price on the tubs is higher by weight, it will last significantly longer and is more convenient.

I also have found that generic store brand cream cheese tends to last longer than Philadelphia. It's probably because of added preservatives or more pasteurization of the dairy, so taste might not be quite as good, but again it's worth it to not waste half the cream cheese you buy.
