The generic brand cream cheese doesn't have the Philidelphia texture or flavor, but it isn't all that bad. But whenever I can afford to, I always go for Philidelphia Creem Cheese.

It Pays to Get the Best Name Brand

Philadelphia cream cheese is the only cream cheese I like honestly I tried getting the cheaper brand ones and to save money and see how it went but they are texture is just off and it just not break down the same as the regular name brand Philadelphia and this is the only one I'll get from here on out

Philadelphia Cream Cheese has always been the same delicious taste for all the years I have been using it. The consistency is just perfect for all of the different ways it can be used from packing celery sticks to complicated recipes calling for cream cheese. It's simply the best.

There is a reason Philadelphia is the gold standard! I've tried cheaper store-brand cream cheese to save a few dollars on cheesecakes, but it always turns out slightly grainier or not as rich. This 8 oz block is my go-to for a reason—it's consistently creamy, smooth, and has that perfect slight tang. It blends beautifully when softened, making the most velvet cream cheese frosting for my carrot cakes and a flawless, crack-free cheesecake base. I also love that this 'Original' block has no artificial preservatives, flavors, or dyes. It's a staple in my fridge for both sweet desserts and savory dips. While it's a bit more expensive than others, for recipes where texture really matters, it is 100% worth the splurge. Highly recommended!

Simply the best for baking

I've never had an issue with Philadelphia Cream Cheese — it's consistently smooth, creamy, and reliable every single time. The texture is perfect, the flavor is clean and rich, and it works just as well on a bagel as it does in recipes. It's one of those brands you can trust to be exactly what you expect, which is why I keep coming back to it.

Best Cream Cheese Around

Philadelphia brand cream cheese tastes the best of all brands of cream cheese in my opinion. It also is consistent in how it acts and tastes when you cook with it. It is the only brand of cream cheese that I buy because consistent taste and behavior when I cook matters to me.

Philadelphia Cream Cheese is an American staple, and we use it in recipes ranging from breakfast, lunch, dinner, appetizers and dessert.  I just made an apple blondie caramel cheesecake for our neighbors as a welcome to the neighborhood gift.  We used Philadelphia cream cheese, and the dessert is delicious.  We always have a minimum of two packages of the cream cheese in our refrigerator.  We highly recommend this product.

Philadelphia Cream Cheese is an American Staple

I buy maybe half name brand and half generic/store brand items. Philadelphia cream cheese is one that I always go for the name brand. I've tried the Great Value and other store brands by themselves and in recipes and they just don't work as well or taste as good. Consistency and flavor are perfect - it's "The" cream cheese IMO

Philadelphia is better than generic / store brand

Forever the best. Don't change flavor, just packaging. Those foil-wrapped bricks are only good until opened; then the cheese has to be put in something else if you want quality to the end. I have bought my favorite cream cheese in other containers, but it is generally a spiced-up offering, not original.  I am single. If I were feeding a clan, the wrapper wouldn't matter
