It’s been exactly 59 years since I used Philips razors because at the age of 17 I enrolled in the Canadian active army I tanned myself lives rakes that ripped my skin I could afford to buy my first Philips electric razor ''choice'' that has never changed since and today at 76 years it’s still Philips that evolved bence on it’s high tech but that’s what it’s been looking for This evolution Ben for me is the best purchase it shaves more near a beard of 2 days it does not even seem very satisfied. The best of my life

Now that I've used this shaver daily for few weeks, I'm more than happy with it; believe the guide leaflet - getting used to it is vital. I get a good shave just using it with a quick mist of pre-shave, but for the cleanest, most comfortable hassle-free shave I use a little shaving gel.
Keep it clean, let it discharge before recharging and it seems very well behaved. If I have one minor reservation it's that the on/off switch is in a place which is easy to nudge accidentally while shaving. Not the end of the world, but maybe something designers could reflect on as future models are projected.
All in all, very happy with my razor.

Comfort and convenience

I have been using Philips electric razors continuously for 57 years, from the early twin-head mains only days! They have always been very reliable. Very light with a long duration on one charge, their rechargeable ranges have been great to take backpacking/wild camping as well as for weekends away.
This latest model is very light and has a short charge time, making it the best yet. It can be rinsed clean too. Great cut.

Aquatouch S5420/06 Men's Razor

I have used Philips razors for a number of years and have always been very pleased with my purchases. This is my first purchase of this particular moving heads system and have found it easy to adjust to this type of shaving and cleaning, though I still find it unusual not to have a cleaning brush. After one month's usage, I have found rinsing the heads under a hot water tap works very effectively, though I note that the head recess still retains some hair cuttings after daily cleaning. I found it very useful to print out the User Guide, all 40 pages, as I do not find the diagrammatic descriptions easy to follow. The written instructions are very clear.

A very good razor as always

Having used only Philips shavers for many years I wanted to update to a newer model as my current one was nit giving a close shave.
I noticed the S5420/06 model in a supermarket and decided it had all the features - and more - that I required and have been satisfied since my purchase.
I have always preferred a dry shave and continue to use it in this way with the wet option available.
Also need to trim my moustache and sideburns regularly so the precision trimmer is essential and helpful though as its not attached having to pull off the shaver head and click on the trimmer is not the most convenient method! 
The actual shave is excellent taking off all stubble and leaving a smooth skin.

A good and reliable shaver

The independently mobile heads follow the face contour very well and perform a good electric shave. Better than most. I have only used it dry so far.
Good battery life between charges.
Good quality head cover.
Only one niggle. The way I hold the razor, the on off switch is under my thumb and I quite often switch it off as I am using it. Not a major problem, but irritating initially till I got used to it.

I was hopeful of this shaver after reading several reviews. But after using it for a while I am very disappointed with the overall performance.
I am comparing this to my previous 6 year old rechargeable Philips Shaver which was excellent in fact it felt like it would cut a hedge if needed. 
This shaver lacks any power and seems to struggle with any more than two days growth.
I seem to be going over my beard area multiple times to ensure it gets all the stubble and shaving seems to take twice as long.
In fact I have taken to running a wet razor over the areas of the face that this doesn't cope with, which really defeats the object of owning this shaver.
I have tried it both wet and dry and am not impressed.
It also feels flimsy which makes me concerned on how long it will last.
Compared to my previous Philips I cannot recommend this shaver.

Not The Best Shaver in the World!

As a fan of Philips shavers I am hugely disappointed with this one.

You only have to look closely at the product picture to see that the cutters are a long way from the edge of the shaving head. This makes it extraordinarily difficult not to leave a very thin moustache under the nose.

Furthermore, clippings fall from the top of the shaving head which is at least an improvement on previous designs whee they drop straight through.

Exchanging the head for the trimmer is also inconvenient.

If I could give this shaver no stars I would.

If I could get a refund I would.
