Having come back to electric shaving after many years of wet shaving, the PT860/17 suits me fine, giving a good dry shave but it does not give as close a shave as a wet shave with a razor.

The battery lasts for around two weeks on one quick charge so for most of my holidays in my campervan, I don't even take the charging lead.

I love the ability to clean the shaver under the running tap.

Highly recommended but you might need a second shave if you are going out in the evening but I suspect that applies to all electric shavers.

having had several Philips shavers over many years this new one I feel is still up there with the best,the only downside is on quality.
Compared to previous shavers I feel the quality has suffered a bit.
having said all that I would still stick to Philips for my shaving needs.

This product does what it should do

I've been using Philips shavers for years and this is my 3rd. Does exactly what it says for a great price...good, close, comfortable shave. Great battery life and washable. Why spend pounds more for a higher spec. model??

Great Product

I bought this for my son-in-law at Christmas as I knew he needed a new one. I looked at the make of his old shaver because I knew he had it for a long time and like it. It too was a Phillips so I checked out the new ones and got this one for him. He loved it and said it was the best one he ever had. I have to take his work for it as I am his mother-in-law and don't use it myself ha ha.

good features

Very happy with the shave I get--close and comfortable. Four stars bc I'm not a Sasquatch when it comes to facial hair yet it seems to take a while to cover everything, ie slight speed of shave issue. 4.5 stars?

Great electric shave for the price

Really like this razor. Previous razors have pulled whiskers, especially if you don't shave for a few. The charge lasts quite awhile too, and it charges quickly.

Gives great close shave and doesn't pinch. Bonus

Registration at philips.com for a UK razor proved impossible! To help others, I eventually suceeded via www.philips.co.uk, NOT via Philips.com as instructed on all the documentation and the box that contained the shaver.
Hope this helps those having similar difficulties.

Goood Product, Difficult Registration

i'm stuck between a rock and a hard place when it comes to rating this product. While its brilliant at shaving my face, when it comes to my neck it leaves a lot of hairs intact meaning that i have to keep going over the same area again and again, this results in razor rash, which is rather painful. The pop up trimmer is great though and is a stand out feature of the product.

great for face poor for neck

Bought this to replace a similar 10-year old Philips shaver because the battery in the old one was failing. The new one is much lighter, presumably because it has a Li-ion battery. It works well enough but for some reason is slower and cuts less closely than the one it replaced.

Ok product

I have used Phillips razors for at least 30 years and have been satisfied. My last razor needed some new heads but after fitting them it never seemed the same so I thought it was time for a new one.
Unfortunately when first using it I thought it was extremely loud compared to the last one.
Upon investigation the cage holding the heads was not fitted properly. After fixing that it was a lot quieter but I was very disappointed with the closeness of the shave.
Even after shaving for what seems a considerable time it still leaves me with short stubble, unlike my last one.
