Sonicare HX6631/24 GumHealth Rechargeable Toothbrush is rated 4.4 out of 5 by 48.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Outstanding on Teeth, Gums--Well Worth Cost The Philips Sonicare Gum Care HX6631 electric toothbrush is totally amazing. The brush is specifically made to work on the gum line successfully removing all plaque accumulation as well as to care for under the gum line along the teeth. This Sonicare type of electric toothbrush goes faster than anything while it is brushing the teeth. It is so fast moving it is very shocking. It has to be doing a great job regardless of how the brushers brush their teeth so long as it is held at the gum line and also moved about over the teeth. This Sonicare Gum Care model has features that teach proper brushing and gum care well. This toothbrush is super rapid and strong in its brushing capability. It is very beneficial that it comes with a 14-day Easy-Start feature to allow users to start off slowly increasing speed. This is because its power makes it seem hard to hold on the teeth and gum line and one has to learn to grip it. The model’s preset timer, the Quadpacer, tells users how long to brush each area of our teeth, the four quadrants. The booklet tells in what order to brush the quadrant sections. The beep to let the user know when to switch quadrants is soft, has to be listened for, but I got used to noticing it quickly. Three lights on the front of the handle show which intensity, soft, medium, or firm, is presently used for brushing. To change intensity, wait for 1.5 seconds to push the button, then the toothbrush will pause and pushing again changes to lower firmness. Do this to go from firm to medium and repeat to go to soft. The toothbrush cannot be turned off by pushing the button, it will only pause. Then, the user has to wait for the lights to go out. The lights switch off after 30 seconds and this is how the toothbrush is turned off. The only possible drawback I can see is that the manual tells how to dismantle it with a hammer and properly recycle/dispose of it when it comes to the end of life of this product, because the rechargeable battery cannot be replaced. However, upon contacting Philips Sonicare about the estimated battery lifespan, it should last the two years while under warranty and then should last on up to five years, and maybe more, even ten based on a few customers’ comments. Keep the battery charged. As soon as it starts to go down based on the yellow light/three beeps, charge it again to make it have the longest life it can. Philips says the Sonicare toothbrush can be kept on the charger all the time to keep it in full charge, and it will not overcharge. I have other products with batteries that have lasted 3-4 years and beyond, therefore, this toothbrush is definitely worth the cost. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Good but not twice as good as the Essence Great toothbrush like all the Sonicares I've had in the past. However, I don't think it's worth paying double just to get a slimmer, ever-so-slightly less noisy version and a carrying case. The three settings are pointless. Stick to the basic model; it's not worth spending extra for little gain.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from like going to the Dentist! This is a review for the Philips Sonicare Gum Care Toothbrush. This is my first time using an electric toothbrush. to be sincere i was really surprise on the performance of this toothbrush, the clean sensation it leaves you it is amazing, just like a visit to the dentist. I Do Really Love it. i have to admit that since this was my first time at the beginning it was a little messy, the vibration of the toothbrush makes the toothpaste end up on the mirror and all over your face so it was weird the first two times i use it, but you just have to be careful to turn it off, and also you have to be careful avoiding the back of the head of the toothbrush touching your teeth because that really hurts. but as i said once you know how to work it around it is worth it and it is worth learning how to use it. I never understood why people paid so much for electric brushes, NOW I KNOW. what it says about leaving your teeth 6x times cleaner, it is true, you can feel it, and doesn't compare to anything unless your a visiting a dentist, and who can visit the dentist everyday? No one. so, if you are thinking on buying an electric toothbrush go for it, it is worth it, you will feel a little desperate at the beginning but once you get use to it it is amazing. and i really like the portability of the case it comes with, perfect size. the brush has levels, i use the first one, i found that the other 2 make my teeth a little sensitive, the first it is just perfect. after reviewing this item i ordered one for my husband. So, would i recommend? YES, definitely. it is worth the price. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Unbelievably clean! Wow, am I impressed! I was so excited to use this brush for the first time, and after its use, I could not believe how my teeth felt. They were so smooth, no, smoother than after having them polished at the dentist office. What also impressed me was, you know how after a teeth cleaning and plaque removal, you can push your tongue up against the inside bottom of your front teeth and actually feel part of your tongue coming through, well I had this exact feeling after just one use. That tells me that this brush removed plague from my teeth, that up until this point, only my dental hygienist was able to do, and only after ONE use. I have had another brand of electric toothbrush that never came close to this kind of clean. This brush does a great job, the vibrations are super fast and the bristles go in between the teeth much better. It has 3 speeds and one does not need to use much toothpaste, a little goes a long way. There is a definite difference on how clean my teeth feel and the massage of the gums. The intensity settings are nice and for some people, the lowest setting may be a bit intense to get used to at first. What I really like is the quadpacer function which times out the whole two minutes into four 30 second sections that tell you when to switch to a different section for brushing. I usually push the button, and brush for awhile longer. The batteries last for an unbelievably long time. This unit came with a nice carry case, charger, and brush head. All in all, even with the cost of the unit and subsequent replacement brush heads, the price for this unit is relatively cheap when comparing to regular visits to the dentist. Once you get a Sonicare toothbrush you will never go back to regular brushing. I hope to use this one for many years to come. Update: I just came from my dental cleaning. The dental hygienist was finished with my cleaning in record time. She hardly had any plaque to clean off my teeth and when the dentist came in to check my teeth over, he said they looked fabulous! Proof positive this unit is worth every dime! Love it! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Have used Sonicare brushes for 8 years I've been hooked on Sonicare toothbrushes ever since a dental hygienist made the recommendation eight years ago. I've had the older E-series with the Standard large bristle head. So this new one is a nice upgrade of a product I already had lots of experience with. The difference is that this one has more adjustable intensity, which would be good for people starting out with a sonic type toothbrush. I use at full intensity. Also has the automatic built-in timer which is very convenient. Most importantly, this model uses the newer 3 Series Compact bristle head. Even though I have several spare Standard large heads for my old unit, I'm now hooked on the new Compact bristle head. It's easier on your gums, and I think it cleans better. I can tell by running my tongue over my teeth. Highly recommended. I've been a big tea drinker for all my life. A huge problem is that the tea would stain my teeth yellow, which looked awful in front. No other toothbrush would deal with it, but that problem went away for good with the Sonicare. No matter how much tea I drink, my teeth always look nice. This was evidence of how well the Sonicare principle works, compared to manual or conventional electric toothbrushes which I earlier tried. Rated 3 out of 5 by from Loud I owned a Philips Sonicare HealthyWhite prior to owning this tooth brush. Unfortuanly that one died so I picked this one up to replace it. This toothbrush worked, but was annoyingly loud. What made it loud was the rattle that would occur with the toothbrush head attached. It was so annoying that I returned it and will be finding another. Other than that, it works just like the other toothbrush that I had.
