The thing I liked most is the way it is constructed , no need for a ember screen to hold the red hot coals. My old one had a expanded metal screen it rotted/rusted out . Also being 30" wide the heat and weight of my old one would allow it to bow. This one being made from cast iron shouldn't bow. You will need to use care when putting wood on the grate or fire . Cast iron will break while my old would bow or bend. So far I have had 1 fire on this grate , we burnt for 6 days and nights, cleaning out ash and adding wood. No BENDING or TWISTING.  I like it so far. I will recommend to friends and family.

Positive about the fire place device.

Having paid under $40, I was skeptical about the quality of  this grate.  But when it arrived, I was pleasantly surprised!  Really well made. Love it!

Great Grate!

This is the perfect piece of equipment for any wood burning fireplace. Just what I needed. I think it's better than the old "fire-dogs" with the legs, that are sometimes too short, or too low for the wood to sit and burn with good heat.

Wrong size but I'm using it anyway

I have had this 22 days and it already has a visible crack and warped in the middle.

Do not waste your money on this.
