This is high quality jar. Main reasons I got this one is because of good reviews here as well as its clear measure markings on the jar.

Had one of these for years that exploded because I heated it too much in the microwave.  Went out and bought another one because I love it so much.  But beware of heating it consecutive times and having it cool down, then heat up again, cool down, etc.  I was melting white chocolate in it.

Love the versatility of this item

I've used the same 4 and 8 cup Pyrex handled mearsuring cups as mixing bowls for years. 
Name brands do matter.
Our son has wanted one for years but I've yet to find him a large glass one. Smaller or plastic ones are all I've found. Personally  I tend to favor using this larger 8 cup one more using a jumbo whisk w/out spilling.

Yeah, I finally found this larger Pyrex

I use the large measuring cup as a mixing bowl.

It is glass, so it won't scratch from beater blades.

It has a handle and a drip spout.

Great Use as a Mixing Bowl

I got this to use when preparing a meal for our church's neighborhood meal once a month. Transfer chicken and dumplings from the cooking pot to the serving pan. Was using a Tupperware 8 cup plastic one and would rather have this glass one.

wonderfully large and sturdy

In addition to a measuring cup I use it as a mixing bowl as well it stands up perfectly well to a metal whisk or a hand-held mixer. It is microwave safe and if the oven is preheated can be used in the oven although I would recommend probably not doing that. It can be used in the dishwasher but for all of my kitchen utensils that I value I wash them all by hand which is quick to do when you're in the middle of cooking it just takes a moment away from the stove and when you're done everything is clean and mostly finished. Highly recommended even when it contains a generous amount of material it is easy to control by the handle as it is well balanced my only complaint is that the pouring spout could be a little wider which would make pouring thicker liquids easier. A really good product at a good price and the shipping was very quick.

A great measuring Bowl with really quick shipping

I have all the other sizes in Pyrex.  I have had them forever.  Since getting married over 30 years ago.  I use them daily so decided to get the larges one.  I can measure and mix in one container and pouring is a breeze.  This product is so durable and hard to break.  Or mind would have been broken before now.  I use it quite a lot.

Perfect!

This 8 cup Pyrex is just what we needed to make preserves which called  for 8 cups of the fruit( peaches or figs)* we had an 8 cup plastic which cracked and the numbers wore off and smaller cups which we had to double the fruit.  Glad we found the8 cup measurer the numbers are bright and easy to read And is heavy duty.

Good Deal

Great measuring bowl...until the measuring markers start to come off!! All of the measurements on the bottom of the bowl are slowly disappearing. How am I supposed to be able to measure anything?!?! It's also not exactly easy to pour liquid with the pour spout. It makes liquids turn into a lawn sprayer and pours more liquid on the counter than into the mixing bowl!! In general I like the Pyrex 8 cup glass measuring cup. But it has a few flaws which makes me wonder “Is a not really a Pyrex?... or is it just that Pyrex workmanship isn't up to snuff any longer. Hopefully my next one is made a little bit better! It's been a good bowl but I'm very surprised that the lettering doesn't peel off

Good bowl, bad design.

The pour spout is so poorly designed that it is IMPOSSIBLE to pour any low viscosity fluid without a serious spill. Will be returning this to the store for a refund
