Got it a few months ago just in time for the World cup great for watching movies and regular TV too.

Just awesome

Purchased for the bedroom (14' x 21') and the only complaint is that after watching it and it has been turned off it makes sounds like the frame is shifting. It makes cracking sounds for hours afterwards! I called the trouble shooting number and was told to reset the TV by holding the power button for 10 seconds, did what I was instructed to do, problem still persists. Guess for the low price paid I got what I paid for. Would be better if TV was used in a family room or basement, not good choice for bedroom.

I am delighted with this product and the ease of ordering on the internet.

55 inch large screen

This set is very misleading although i have a lot to learn about pixels and mhz refresh rate yet. I am running a shaw direct sat hd receiver the basic hd one on a 32 inch emerson for 3 yrs. Was satisfied with the pic but thought i would try the 55 led but was put off by the 1200 price tag on most models. Purchased this one on the claims of 1080p and 120 hz refresh rate.Good deal at 750 bucks. Hooked it up and played with the various settings and settled in to watch Dexter on Hbo.
Not totally impressed, the screen seemed to jump around the figures when they were moving, and the scenes indoors with darker lighting were no better than my old tv.Hit the button that shows what it was displayng, 720p and 60 hz. WHAT???
Decided to do some learnin on the net about pixels and hz. One blogger says that 1080 and 120hz are only capable with blu ray. OKAY THEN. So i played around with the darkness setting and contrast etc.
am now fairly happy with the pic. Realized you get what you pay for. When you see a LG or Samsung on the display shelf crystal clear it is most likely a blu ray movie playing. Although brighter scenes like outdoor scenes are good with this unit and sports are decent too. Just dont expect to be blown away.
Was planning on buying a blu ray soon although i rarely rent movies am curious to see if this is really capable of 120 hz and 1080p or did we all just get taken. I probably would have purchased this set regardless of the numbers because of the price,am kind of a cheapskate!!

Not Too Bad

I just purchased this TV from Walmart. It is the same model number on the box as the one listed here. The box states - 4000:1 Contrast ratio, 8ms response time and 120hz Refresh rate. On the site, it states otherwise.
The TV is a good value, but not for the hardcore TV watcher. The contrast ratio and response time are very low for a 55" television. It is a very good price if you want a big TV but can't afford the top quality ones.

Specs are wrong on the site.

Have had for 4 weeks....RCA just isn't what it used to be.....colour not the greatest but at least it is still working....previous 50" RCA I bought died after 10 weeks...here's hoping this one lasts because I can't afford the expensive ones

over priced for quality

I bought this tv on walmart.ca. Set it up last night, realized that HDMI Port 3 is bent when I opened the box and the screen has a flaw on the right side about half way up along the side where the there is a white light line that never goes away. I guess I need to pack this one back up for a return...

Get what you pay for...

I bought this TV on Jan 26, 2013 and only watched 4 times. On april 12, 2013, I turn it on and there is a green line cross the Tv vertically from top to the bottom on the right hand side.

I called RCA and they said They can not provide warranty without original receipt from the store. I don`t know how it is related to the receipt because I can provide the credit card statement to prove when i bought it.

then they said I have to put it into a 55" box and take to the store to get it fixed if I can provide the original receipt. How and where can I get a 55" box??

Anyway, It is a defect product and it is a not good experience with their customer service either.

ive had nothing but problems from this tv from the get go when i bought it and got it home there was a big scratch on the screen so i had to take it back i got another one of the same tv had it for four days and it quit on me and now i have to take it back again this tv is a lemon i suggest you do not buy it unless you wanna throw almost a thousand dollars down the drain
