I admit I had no idea what to do with this convertor when I bought it, I had always had cable. But my life is so busy now that I hardly ever watched TV anymore, and had decided to get my cable turned off. But I still wanted the Lima channel (WLIO).
Thanks to the easy to follow directions, I was able to get it up and running, and have a couple more channels besides the Lima channel!

The tuner does receive digital signals and convert them to analog. It does have an autoscan feature to tune in the available stations. However, it does not have a "add" channel feature. If you have an aerial rotator, this makes getting alll channels almost impossible.

OK tuner for analog TVs

It works good,don't matter how old the crt tv is,the picture comes in crystal clear. The better the anntena you use with the box the more channels youll recieve. I use a ClearTV HD anntena and I got about 90 channels,about half the channels come in HD,which is nice. If you want a low budget setup for your garage or shed/workshop or even a kids playhouse in the backyard,this is the way to go.

I TOLD HER ABOUT THE BOX INSTEAD OF HER TRYING TO PAY FOR CABLE WHICH SHE CAN'T AFFORD I TOLD HER THE BOX HAS NO MONTHLY PAYMENTS AND MANY CHANNEL'S TO WATCH . I'VE HAD MY BOX SINCE THE FIRST DAY THEY CAME OUT WHICH WAS ALSO PURCHASE FROM WALMART IN MIAMI. THE GOVERNMENT GAVE 1 AND THE 2ND HALF PRICE YOU DO GET MORE CHANNEL'S THAN REGULAR TV I MYSELF THINK THE CONVERTIBLE BOX IS GOOD PRODUCT AND GOOD PRICE WITH MORE CHANNEL'S TO WATCH IT WAS A GOOD CHOICE FOR THOSE THAT CAN'T AFFORD CABLE

GREAT BOX FOR MY SISTER

This converter displays the channels names as you switch channels and also displays the name of the program being televised on your screen. The remote control allows you to control the television's power and volume control as well which eliminates the need to use two separate remote controls. Living 30 miles from Salt Lake City, I ran a scan and the digital converter box picked up 38 channels which included all of the local channels plus many others which were clear as a bell. I also purchased a digital indoor antenna from Walmart for around $35.00 because I was worried that I might not be able to pick up any channels being so far out in the country. This product did not disappoint. With the increasing prices of satellite and cable TV, you can save a lot of money by using this product and eliminating your cable/satellite bill.

Great product, performs well

My boyfriend likes the volume on the television loud. So we had at one time 2 converter boxes, one we had to throw away, hey it lasted 4 years. So it was about time for another one. I have the new one in the living room and the other one which is also 4 years old, in the bedroom. It works great and it is very easy to set up. So, those converter box buyers out there; make sure to reset the system once in a while, you may never know, might get another free channel.

simple life is easier

I am very pleased that I purchased the RCA DTA800B1 Digitial TV Converter because it really works excellently on my old Phillips TV. I am now able to watch all my favorite shows from the leading networks.

Excellent Digital TV Converter.

I purchased this box for my grandmother and because, she has an older TV we purchased an antenna as well. This box was everything she hoped for and more. One we connected it to TV it worked right away. The channels come in very clear also.

I work in concrete building with no cable. This product allows me to watch football on Sundays which is all I wanted it for so therefore I am totally satisfied.

This digital to analog converter works great. It's easy to set up and the remote is well layed out with large buttons. I have 6 other brand converters and like this one the best.

sent it to my sister and she said that she still doesn't have reception on but a couple of channels and they are not clear--full of static.
