Rubbermaid Reuse Sip Bottle is rated 3.8 out of 5 by 187.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from good green idea I've been purchasing these 20 oz squirt bottles for the past 7 or 8 years . Besides the fact that constant freezing and defrosting weakens the bottle structure , I' only had problems with leaking , if I didn't make sure the seal is in place after I pulled it out of the dishwasher . On the subject of the dishwasher , I always wash the caps with the squirt tip down , and in the open position , and check the seal disposition to make sure it is properly seated , before using it again . To prevent the tip from closing while in use , I use my thumb to hold the tip open .

Rated 2 out of 5 by from shocked w/ lack of durability So, I'm trying to be more ecofriendly w/ the water bottle thing. I'm buying these spill-proof reusable water bottles for my kids to use at school. The lids on TWO of them have now broken--the little "crosshairs" piece inside the lid that the white plug rests against is breaking off. Can't explain it!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from pretty good I like the design of this bottle but I lost the gasket in the lid so it leaks a little, a better design would be a built in rubberized gasket

Rated 5 out of 5 by from I have this type of bottle, but the small 8 oz version. I had the same problem initialyl as others, where i would suck on the straw but very little would come out. The white little rubber stopper on the lid (that some people were poking pins through to get a 2nd air hole), actually already has a slit in it that for some reason is stuck tight together. once you get it unstuck, bottle works beautifully!

Rated 5 out of 5 by from need to offer replacement lids! I bought many of these bottles and the chug style to be more green. I love these bottles and only have one complaint. I would like to see the lids sold without the bottles. My daughter likes these because they are easy to use but she chews on the lids and ruins them. The bottle is perfectly fine to continue using. She doesn't like the chug style as she usually ends up with water all over her with that style. Please Rubbermaid offer the bottle tops at least online. It is such a waste not to.

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Best choice for Handicapped Son My son is handicapped and tends to bite down hard on the normal drink bottles. He can't suck on a straw and this soft plastic tip tends to work better. There are drawbacks, the rubber gasket on the lid can fall off in the dishwasher. I think that's why they have been complained about. The inside cage that holds the rubber tip also breaks off on about 10% of the bottles. I have purchased about 20 of these so far and it is always the lids that break. He eventually chews through the soft tip and I have to replace them for that reason, but it is better than repairing his teeth. I shouldn't have had to throw away over half of the bottles I have because the gasket got lost and the tip holder broke. That is unacceptable. Reading between the lines I believe some of the customers didn't even realize there were gaskets. I saw one of them leaking and would have thrown it out if I hadn't looked inside the two lids and saw one had a gasket and one didn't. I found one in the dishwasher but the others (at least 4) were gone. That is about 15 of the bottles I have purchased in the past year trashed because of the little cage that holds the tip or the gaskets were lost. Only about 5 were bitten through and useless. If I didn't need them I wouldn't buy them. You should offer lids as a separate purchase or fix the defect in craftsmanship.
