I've owned this no frills model for the past 4 years and use it regularly for my family of 4. It cooks the rice well. I have had no negative issues with it at all. It doesn't take up a lot of storage space. Good value for the money.

Good value for the money

I have a zojirushi and it cooks rice way better without the burning but it's huge and cumbersome if your just want a little rice. Thus is way more convenient and easier to clean. I would only recommend making 2 cups of rice or less as the rice starts to get mushy and weird when you make more.

Great for 1 or 2 people

It works too well. Cooks rice at too high a temperature. I insert two wooden toothpicks under the lid to help steam escape or it boils over the edge of the lid. It works better that way. Also always has a crusty layer of rice in the bottom of the cooker.

Cooks very briskly

as of September 19, 2014 I checked your site her tell me that sorel are out of stock for this item yet by going to the store there was a lot on the tablet Jai hate to try it because jdeteste cook rice I believe her will save me time:)

Update of the site

Burns Rice at the bottom, cheap quality bowl, mine stopped working within a month of purchase. Being an Indian Student, I use it everyday for cooking rice. This thing let me down on the day I was in a hurry....

Waste of Money, go for Black and Decker

I bought this in march 2014 it died may 2014. Used every 2 days for my husbands lunches. It burt to the bottom so you would throw out a quarter of rice in the garbage. Going back to good old faithful Hamilton beach that lasted 2 years.

You get what you pay for

I bought one on september 2012, and recently my Rival Rice Cooker stopped to work!!!

While it was worked, it was very food richer cooker.

It is a very good product. We use it in a school project to make a yogurt maker with high school students 3.

It consistently burns rice and the rice overflows during cooking, leaving a puddle on the counter.
