Ratings & Reviews+

Robin Hood Gluten Free All Purpose Flour Blend is rated 3.9 out of 5 by 79.
Rated 2 out of 5 by from Super disappointed Celiac!! Both myself and my father are Celiac and we cook 90% everything gluten free. So pretty much everyone eats the same diet but the ones who aren't Celiac get there treats at times. It can get very costly. So I was excited to try this because the flour I do use currently is four times the price for the same size. I was so disappointed with the gf flour. Everything was brown which I can live with if the taste is there. I made a roast dinner and Yorkshire pudding and they were flat hockey pucks that had a gritty taste. Ok could be user error so the next morning I tried making pancakes and again no go. Pancakes are a every weekend event so I know I can make them. They were just these dark brown gritty crumbles on a plate. Booooooo!!! 2/5

Rated 4 out of 5 by from Great thickener for my Mac N Cheese I used the flour in a homemade mac 'n cheese recipe. I found that it worked well in thickening the cheese sauce. All in all - worked pretty well! [I was recruited to try this product for a reduced price and share my honest review]

Rated 3 out of 5 by from Not my favourite pancake I've been buying gluten free pancake mix for quite a while now and have been meaning to make my own gluten free pancakes from scratch. I researched recipes online and found one with an overwhelmingly great review - so I gave Robin Hood's Gluten Free All Purpose Flour Blend (made with xanthan gum) a try. I have to admit, I found the pancakes smelled and tasted a bit like a school room glue/paste (not that I've ever tasted glue, but the pancakes did taste like they smelled). It might've been the xanthan gum causing this - maybe I will try shaking/mixing the contents of the bag next time. The flour was quite fine and did thicken up pretty good, but perhaps my expectations were too high. I mean, I've made gluten free pancakes from a pre-made mix - and this tasted nothing like it, even though the ingredients were pretty much the same. I wasn't pleased with the taste or the chewiness, nor the smell. I will however give the flour another try, but not with pancakes. I've always used Robin Hood's flour prior to trying gluten free - so maybe I will have better luck with using their gluten free flower for bread. Rated 4 out of 5 by from Good Product I purchased this product for testing purposes to give my honest feedback. I liked this product to make things gluten free. It was easy to use. It's not like regular flour...where you get the rise from the dough however it was good. I made pancakes and it was lite and still came out good. I would recommend this product and would continue to use it [I was recruited to try this product for a reduced price and share my honest review]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Taste Great, not like other Gluten Free stuff Wow, I was pleasantly surprised that it didn't taste bland like all of the other Gluten Free stuff I have tried over the years. [I was recruited to try this product for a reduced price and share my honest review]

Rated 3 out of 5 by from I prefer normal flour I tried out Robinhood's Gluten-Free all Purpose Flour blend, as I had been wanting to try a gluten-free flour for awhile. No one in my family is celiac, but I had read about the health benefits of eating gluten-free products, so figured I'd give it a try. My first experience with it was cornbread, which I usually make with a mix of cornflour and whole wheat flour. I used this gluten-free flour instead, and the cornbread turned out okay, but the texture and taste wasn't as great as usual. It didn't rise as much, was more crumbly and not as tasty as it usually is. So I would recommend this for those who have to eat gluten-free, but if not, I would continue using whole wheat flour.
