Ratings & Reviews+

Rubbermaid Take Along Divided Snacker is rated 1.8 out of 5 by 39.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Blown away by all the "lids don't fit" reviews. My review: In my hunt for a leakproof multi-compartment container that was small enough for my 3 year old's lunch, I came across these Rubbermaid Takealongs and figured for the price, it would be worth a shot. Turns out these little containers are perfect for his lunches! In the larger compartment I put a 1/2 sandwich and some dry snacks like chips/crackers/raisins, etc... and yogurt/applesauce/fruit goes in the smaller container. Perfect size and proportions! I also have used these myself to take apples and peanut butter to work for lunch. I put a bit of lemon juice and a splash of water in the larger compartment with the apples to keep them from browning, and the liquid has never leaked into the compartment with the peanut butter. I may try salad/dressing, yogurt/granola... Knowing these containers really ARE leak proof, I think the options are endless! Now if Rubbermaid would come out with a THREE compartment container like the now-discontinued Ziploc containers, that would be GREAT! My comments regarding the lids: It certainly didn't seem like rocket science, and I was able to figure it out pretty quickly after my first attempt to put liquids in the small compartment resulted in a sandwich soaked in cocktail fruit syrup... but yes, there is a bit of a trick to the lids: you HAVE to close the smaller compartment first, by pushing down on the center rim until you hear it snap into place, and then push down the rest of the lid, for it to be 100% leak proof. I even did a shake test with water in the smaller compartment just to be sure, and sure enough not a drop of water leaked out! I close them the same way every time now. I have been using these containers for a couple months, and they all get washed once a week in the top rack of the dishwasher, and I still have yet to have a lid pop off or a compartment leak.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Lids DO NOT fit I picked these versus another competitive brand, because I trusted the Rubbermaid brand name. I thought they would be a great value for the price and perfect for meal planning. WRONG. I made a bunch of food, put it in my new TakeAlongs and not a single lid fit properly. Once you finally, if you are able to, get all four corners down, one pops up. My food wasn't even to the top of the container. I tried them without food in them, and they still don't fit. I'm upset and surprised that Rubbermaid brand put this product out. A waste of money and I have no idea what I'm going to do with a bunch of these now. Durability gets a poor rating because I'm not able to rate it, as I'm not able to take it anywhere and see if it is a durable product.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Worth the struggle My dad gave me three of these because he couldn't close the lids but when I tried them I noticed that they seal REALLY well and that's why the lid is a little harder to close than normal and this I EXACTLY what I wanted. I'm very pick about my food touching and this keeps the dips & sauces separate just like if I had put it in two separate containers. LOVE, LOVE these!!

Rated 1 out of 5 by from lid is difficult to close or open I bought this product because it's seemed like a great option for packing veggies and dip. It took me for ever to try and figure out how to close the lid. once I figured out that if you started with the middle divided seam it became easier. My challenge is trying to get it opened after it's closed! If I just use my hands I feel as though I may slice my finger off along the edges. And if I try using a fork or butter knife I end up cracking the lid. Is there an easier way to get the lid off once it's securly sealed? Please help.

Rated 1 out of 5 by from Disappointed in Rubbermaid The design is great for so many things. However, the lids don't fit which makes the product unuseable for any food storage.

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Going on 2nd year of school and still work great! I bought these last year for my girls lunches and its now going on the second month of school and they are still working great. I have put in dishwasher and in fridge, no issues with the lids and best of all it keeps the items separate so they don't mingle once its in the lunch box. I do notice that I need to push the smaller side on first then the larger side last.
