Bought this on sale tonight and love it. It's a good value for the money at $198.00 and that is why I waited until it hit this price. It's perfect for an apartment. It's quiet and uses no power at all. 0.6amps and 5.6amps peak according to the sticker on the back. I also trust this brand name because they are associated with Danby and I own other stuff from them that has been very reliable and well built and this Salton up-right freezer is no exception. It would have been nice to be able to remove the shelves that the slide-in/out baskets sit on so I could accommodate taller boxes but I can't really complain because everything fits well. Make sure you wait a couple hours before plugging it in as the manual suggests so the compressor can settle and you will be good to go!

Excellent value for the money at $198.00 (On Sale)

My kids bought me this for Christmas & its terrific - freezes well & fast. The baskets are removable so that you can freeze things such as strawberries individuallly on cookie sheets & then scoop them into a bag. Highly recommend this very compact freezer - & no more digging around a chest to find things!

Love this little freeer

Being apprehensive about he noise level, I was delighted this unit was so quiet. The 4 pull-out shelves make so much sense - everything is visible.

After the unit has been leveled and placed, it's awkward to get at the temperature control at the back. Other than that, a great little freezer.

Good Customer Service from Walmart and Salton, they both help me to resolve issue on my minor damage on this freezer during delivery of it. This is a great small freezer, great in organizing stuff I want to freeze!

I have had this freezer for just about 5 years now and couldn't be happier!
I love the drawers compared to the chest freezer I used to have....easy to remove things and I am amazed at how much this little freezer can hold. 
I am by myself and it is more than ample for my needs....sure saves a lot of time going to the grocery store as I can buy in bulk....less expensive and repackage to smaller proportions...a major shopping trip is a once a month trek if that. saves me time and money all around. Quiet, and with the energy star rating saves pennies there too.
I highly recommend this product for small families or small spaces, without any reservation.

Great little freezer

Amazing to keep a stock pile of moms home cooking at school and avoid the high cost of take-out!!! I got the one with 3 draws instead of 4 bc I liked the deeper storage space.

Perfect for university!

Just recently bought this freezer to supplement our fridge freezer (which was becoming over-stuffed).

Its a good size freezer, but not too large, has plenty of storage, and pull-out drawers. This is much better than a chest freezer (we, at one time, had a small one) where items at the bottom often-times are lost/ forgotten. With the chest freezer you can see everything that's in there and things don't get lost.

I would definitely recommend this freezer who anyone that wants that extra bit of storage.

Nice Little Addition

The freezer is good if you want something to give you a little more freezer space. We are in an apt. and have a small size fridge so the extra freezer space helps a lot.
It would be better if the coils did not go under each drawer and if the drawers could be removed to accommodate larger items.
