This may have been last years model(BD-J5100)but was able to update the firmware to a version created later this year connected via Ethernet cable (can also update via USB drive). Everything works like new. Came with remote and instructions. You'll have to buy your own HDMI cable if you don't already own one. I've tried Blu ray disc, DVD, and on the USB port was able to play x264 MKV and DivX. I did not have a brand new Blu ray disc to see if it plays the newest copy-write protection. Was such a great price I bought two. Wish I had purchased a couple more!

Very easy to set up.  Not only do we get to play our Blu-ray DVDs  but we are also able to watch Netflix and other streaming sites.  We really think of it as a bonus.  Very pleased with our purchase.

Samsung are the best

Easy to use. Coordinates with my curved Samsung TV. No wireless but easy to hook up to cable box via LAN cable. Cable is not required to play DVD/Blu Ray discs, just online content like Netflix.  If you have stuff like that on your tv you don't need the LAN cable. Very happy with purchase!

Very nice player!

I bought this to go with the refurbished 32" Samsung TV for the bedroom.  I also ordered a HDMI cord  just in case one was not provided.  You will need one to attach to your television.   I couldn't be Happier with My Purchases!!!!  Excellent Deal on both and Everything is working Wonderfully!!!!!!!        I am retired and older but I had no trouble setting up everything.   Love It.......Thank You..........

This refurbished blueray player works great and was about half the price of a new one.

Great product

Plays  dvd and Blu-ray discs good. Have not tried any home recorded ones yet. Easy to hook up. One hdmi cable and plug in the power cord. The one thing I really do not like about this player is there is no light on it indicating that it is turned on... I don't know if it does not have one or if mine just doesn't work... We have a Samsung tv also and the Blu-ray player remote controls limited functions on the tv too. All in all we are happy with it. It would be tough to beat for the price! Bought it site to store and Walmart's service was excellent!

Good Blu-ray player

I am happy I ordered this blu-ray player after my old one got damaged. I am now able to watch my DVD's. Easy to set-up. Great quality. You will need an HDMI cable to connect.

Plays well

Samsung forgot one very important feature on this Blu-Ray CD player. Why they failed to put the little LED light on the front of this unit that lets you know if the power is on or off, is beyond me! They clearly dropped the ball when they forgot this important feature, that's pretty much a given on any other piece of electronic equipment you buy. Like I said, it's a good Blu-Ray player but come on, it couldn't cost much to put a simple on/off indicator light on the front of it!

it didn't come with any cables other then the wall outlet one to turn it on. so I not only have to buy a hdmi cable but every other cable that hooks it to my tv ....kinda frustrating I have to spend more to use it.

No because when I try to use it, this not turn on never and I dropped the box... it is for this reason that it was not to return at the store I have Renton store near to me...
