We bought two of these and placed them side by side. The trim work around the bottom really adds to the shelves and makes them look more sophisticated than earlier generations of these types of shelves.
Putting it together took some time, but all of these products do with the unboxing, matching the hardware and screws with the proper step, etc.
It is not solid wood, but the construction seems sturdy enough. Hopefully the shelves will not sag, but we are not planning on putting a lot of heavy books or other items on the shelf.

Sharp looking piece

Although the product arrived well-packaged, one of the doors was cracked. A quick call to Sauder customer service took care of that & three days later I had a new unblemished door, free of charge. The bookshelf part of this piece was a cinch to put together, but installing and adjusting the doors was a giant pain in the rear (tip: loosen up the depth screw before you try to install the doors). The library is heavy & the shelves have stood up well these past two weeks with daily use. In time I'm sure I'll see a little wear, but that is to be expected. The only thing I would change about this piece is the width. I would like to see it available in a 36" width to match the heavy-duty Sauder bookshelf I bought. Other than that, I am extremely satisfied with this purchase and would definitely recommend this product.

Beautiful and Sturdy

Great for storing dvd's, vhs's, some albums, light books. Better secured on hardwood/tile floors, no carpets. Make sure you line up back board to nail properly and, look closely at the slightly pre holed dots.

A really nice sturdy cabinet.

I really love the bookcases! (I bought 2) I love the storage at the bottom the most. The color is much darker in person than in the picture but not enough to throw off our color scheme.

Love the Storage!

I received this piece last week. I had to hire a handyman to put it together for me since I am not handy in any way (single full time Mom here). Even with paying the handyman, it is a good deal for the price for me. I am putting together a new office and I want it to look high end and this piece fits the bill. It's a very nice looking piece of furniture. But you do have to handle it with kid gloves as with all Sauder furniture. It nicks and paint comes off very easily. Also, two of the pieces came damaged, but like others have done, I called Sauder and they sent replacement pieces right away, no questions asked. That is at least something, but it did delay putting it together. Overall I am pleased.

Good Deal for the Price

I am satisfied with this book shelf. The only part that was slightly disappointing was the fact that the back of the shelf is just a thin piece of black cardboard. But, I guess you pay for what you get. Since the back of the shelf is cardboard you cannot secure it to the wall from behind. You are provided with a silver fasten for the top of the bookshelf, but then it is visible on the wall. Overall it looks nice and will serve its purpose.

Satisfied with Book Shelf

My boyfriend and I put it together with no problem. I love it! My only complaint is that some of the screws started stripping when you screwed them too tightly. Besides that I think this is a great product and it looks very nice.

Nice for the price

Overall I'm pleased with this product. It was simple to put together no real guessing with the instructions. I think the product looks nice, and for the price I think it's great. As we knew when we purchased this that the back is cardboard, and if there are no books (things) to hide it, it doesn't look very attractive. Another appearance complaint is that the doors on the bottom have a quarter of an inch gap.

received product no damage to box when I opened both side pieces were broke in half. box and packageing was in good shape it was miss handled durning shipping. called for replacement s and received them in 4 days which included weekend. would but again and have already ordered a desk to match book case

first time sauder buyer

Overall it is a good looking inexpensive accesorry. I have the desk and 2 drawer cabinet. The only thing I'm disappointed with is its stability. Seems to be wobbly and actually brings an anchor system for the wall which I do not want to drill in my wall for this.

Good look, not too stable

we bought this online. It looks nice in the picture but when it arrived at our home it was in pieces. The wood is so thin and cheap it was smashed in half. we had to take it all back to our closest store for a refund. We ended up going to a proper furniture store, spending double the price but got a really nice. good quality piece of furniture that lasts for years. I have learned the lesson too many times, not to buy cheap furniture. I love wal mart and buy a lot of things from there, but i will not be buying furniture.
