Scrabble Twist Game English Version is rated 4.7 out of 5 by 67.
Rated 5 out of 5 by from Fun game, great for car trips too We love games at our house, especially word games. So, we were anxious to try this game out. This is supposed to be a handheld version of a Scrabble game. It would be much more accurate to call this Boggle Twist than Scrabble Twist! If you are expecting anything like a normal Scrabble game, you'll have to let that thought go. If you like to play Boggle, you will enjoy this game. The unit is easy on the eye and well designed to hold in the hand. It takes three AA batteries. We originally put in some partially used lithium batteries just to try out the game. We played so much we wore out that set of batteries and had to put in new ones! You have to unscrew the back door to the battery compartment with a Phillips-head screwdriver. The batteries slide in a little bit differently on one side, with a sliding compartment divider to help you get them in the right spot. As we tried to play right after putting in the batteries, I wondered why the letters never changed. Being among those people who skim directions sometimes, there were a few things we missed that are important to enjoying the game. Number one - REMOVE the stickers on the circles! Ha ha! We really were not paying attention to that at all. There are stickers on each one of the letter areas (five total) that have to be taken off before you play. Feel free to call me silly - I just wasn't really looking at it right. Second important thing - the SOUND LEVEL. Oh my gosh, this game can be LOUD. We were ready to put duct tape over the speaker portion until we realized that you can adjust the volume in the settings BEFORE you start to play. You can choose high, medium, low or off on the sound, so again, a GREAT feature for car trips. (Maybe we'll read the directions more often.... MAYBE. It is mentioned in them!) The actual game play is fun. We have not tried the party mode of passing it around among up to 8 people, but have tried the turbo and solo play. We prefer the solo play, and just challenge each other to beat the high score. (High scores are also stored in the game until you choose to reset to erase them.) You get five random letters and 60 seconds to try to make as many words as you can from it. Again, more like Boggle than Scrabble. You select the buttons in the order you want to spell the word, and then TWIST it to "register" the word. It will either accept it or you'll hear a buzzer sound of rejection, which is given either for non-words or for words you've already made on that play. Two-letter words do not count. The game has the nice feature of being totally user-friendly for either right or left handed people. You just turn the game around to put the twisting end on whichever side is your dominant hand. It sits nicely in the hand, and was well-designed. This game could have been a lot better with a couple of changes - 1. Expand it to SIX letters. Five is just too limiting, and causes some really bad rounds, depending on the random letters that you get. Six would make it more challenging, have more options and be more fun to play. I hope they consider coming out with a six-letter version. This would be a GREAT game to take on car trips, camping, or using in small groups of people. Yes, we have actually played this game a lot already, and are actually enjoying it. I can actually recommend this one! Enjoy! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Electronic Scrabble Twist Electronic Scrabble Twist is a single unit, multi-player electronic word game that is a lot of fun! It requires three double A batteries. Once the batteries are inserted, you twist the end of the unit to turn the game on, scroll through the menu options to choose one of three player settings, tap any button to select a game and number of players, and then you are all set to play. The object of the game is to compose as many three to five letter words from the letters provided before your time runs out. The three player modes: party mode, turbo mode, and solo mode allow you to choose as few as one player but as many as eight players depending on which mode you select. In party mode each player gets a set amount of time, depending on the level of difficulty (easy vs. mid vs. pro) to make words and pass the game to the next player. If a word is not created in the allotted amount of time, that player is out of the game. Turns continue until there is one player left standing as the winner. In party mode, twenty seconds are allotted for word creation on the easy level, fifteen seconds on mid-level and ten seconds for pro level. The same as in party mode, the turbo mode gives each player an allotted amount of time to create as many words as possible. In solo mode, one player can create as many words as possible within an allotted amount of time. In turbo and solo modes, seventy five seconds are allotted for word creation on the easy level, sixty seconds on mid level and forty five seconds for pro level. The longer the word, the more points you score. The game awards three points for each three letter word, four points for each four letter word, and five points for each five letter word that is created. The game keeps you engaged and challenged. I like that if you manage to create every possible word from the letters provided, Scrabble Twist will give you a whole new set of letters. I also like the feature that automatically puts the game in sleep mode after thirty seconds of non-use, which conserves the batteries. Basically, if you enjoy word games as much as I do, you are sure to enjoy Electronic Scrabble Twist! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Exciting New Spin on a Favorite Board Game! I love playing scrabble. It's one of my favorite game board games. So when I saw this, I was so happy to receive. It was easy to get it started. You remove the blue dots that spell twist. On the back is a Philips screw that you loosen to install the batteries (not included). It takes 3 AA batteries. Very easy to put in. To get started you twist the red end on the left. Then your option comes up how you want to play. You can play the PARTY game which is 2-8 players, TURBO which is head to head challenge, and then SOLO if you want to play by yourself. This is how I first played. You tap one of the letters and 5 letters come up. You have 1 minute to find as many words as you can out of the 5 letters. You tap out the words, twist and it scores automatically so you don't have to write anything down. This was fun. Once I got used to it, I was working it like a pro. (Ha ha) . If the words good, the unit will play a "You got it! " sound. If it's wrong you get 5 X's. When your time is up, it displays your score. When you play with more than 1 player, it's so much fun. My friend and I were giggling trying to find words. I am retired and I am at the age where I need to keep my brain stimulated. My brain is getting a workout with this, and it is fun! Best of all, I can play by myself. So light and compact, and very easy to use. You can take this anywhere. Take it in your purse to parties, great to play in the car, or anywhere else.Kids would have fun playing this in the car on those long trips! The letters are lit up, so you can play in the dark! This has taken SCRABBLE to a new level. No more pulling out a board, and tile pieces. No paper and pencil to keep score. Wow! this is great! I just love this idea! I am now giving my old Scrabble deluxe game to a neighbor. LOVE this! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from YOUR NEW ADDICTION AWAITS! Buy at your peril! Scrabble Twist Electronic Game This game came packed well in a box with two other products to review. The box was slightly damaged upon arrival and the scrabble box was slightly bent and dented. There was no actual damage to the product itself that I could find. The contents of the box: Game Unit Instruction Booklet NOTE: This game does require 3 AA batteries that are NOT included in the box. You will need a Phillips screwdriver to install the batteries. I used a larger standard screwdriver personally. The construction of the unit seems very tight and durable. The letters flip when the unit is held upside-down. I like this feature. The game unit has very few menus to worry about and is easy to navigate and understand. You have your game selection part and then the score view and the volume selection. If you want to reset the unit you can take out the batteries. If you wish to reset the high scores, there is a reset button that you hold for 2 seconds. I did not have any players to help me test this unit as I'd hoped. There are three settings for each game style. Knockout PARTY where you have so many seconds to find a word. When you do, you hand it to another player and then they twist to start the timer fort heir turn. If you miss a word, you're knocked out of the game. I think this is actually pretty fun solo too or with any imaginary friends or maybe even split personalities. You can choose how many players you wish to include in the game with a minimum of two players. Then there is the TURBO challenge game. The game is just like the SOLO game version but with more players. You have 60 seconds (at MID level) to find as many words as possible EASY is 75 seconds and PRO is 45 seconds. If you find all of the words with a group of letters, it will give you new letters to work with. You choose the difficulty prior to choosing the game. You twist to change the menu and tab to select your choice. You tap each letter and twist to bank the words found. The unit will let you know if it's correct or not. You can only bank the first found word. Keep trying until you find it again. I really love this game! It is very much addictive and engrossing for all ages. It is easy to use and understand and there is very little to mess up. If you do, you can do the fail-proof fix all method of removing the batteries and trying again. I did not have any difficulties in setting up or using this game so I have no troubleshooting tops, but I'd suppose that removing batteries would be the first step in fixing errors if any. I believe that this is definitely worth the price regardless of what it is. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Frustratingly Addicting! First of all, you need to know that I love word games. Scrabble. Jumble. Boggle. Crosswords. Word find. etc. etc. They are all good. This game almost instantly became another favorite. Much more like Boggle than it is like Scrabble, you can play this game solo or in a variety of of multi player modes. Kinda like solitaire on the PC, you can start ripping through solo game after game and quickly lose track of time (ok, not everyone will do that, but I did). You simply spell out words based on the letters provided each round/game. Pressing the letters in order and then "twisting" one end of the game submits the word. The games blinks to tell you if the word is accepted, rejected, or is a repeat of a previous submission. The dictionary stored in the game is impressive. I have yet to find a real word that it has rejected. The multi player version of the game can be played quietly between two players who simply take turns seeing who can find the most amount of words with the same set of letter. We've also played it in a larger group with opposing players shouting out "helpful" suggestion words - usually words that cannot be made with the supplied letters. That was a lot of fun. The small size and the back lit letters allow the game to be taken anywhere. This will make a great travel game for the car or even the plane. I cannot speak to the expected battery life as we have only had the game a couple of weeks. As it is, we have played several hundred games and the batteries are still going strong. Without a doubt, this is the best game we have picked up in several years. We strongly recommend it. [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]

Rated 5 out of 5 by from Twist and Shout! My family loves game night. However, sometimes we want something new to play. We have MANY different types of games. Scrabble is one of my husband’s and my favorite game. We can play for hours. So, when I saw Scrabble Twist I just had to give it a try. Well, I am glad I did. This game has several different game modes you can play with it. There is party, turbo, and solo game modes. The party mode allows more than one player to play at the same time. This will be done in a pass around style. You all get the same letters and each player has to shout out the word they spell and no one else can use that word on their turn. This goes on until there is only one person left. The turbo mode allows multiple players to get as many words as possible in sixty seconds. Then the next player has the same letters and tries to get more words than the last, if possible. The player with the most words in the end is the winner. The solo mode allows a player to play alone. The player tries to make as many words as possible within the sixty second time frame. My family really enjoyed this game. The game is made so that right handed and left handed players can play without any trouble. I think this is a good game. It is fast and fun! [This review was collected as part of a promotion.]
