I really like this jar and I use it for M%26Ms and also for cookies. I do I do wish it had a little bit tighter seal, but I really like it even without the seal

This design is not meant to have a tight seal. Which having the ability of gas escaping during a fermenting process is what i was looking for. Tight seals can explode if not burped regularly %26 loose seal means I can safely neglect it awhile.

This particular one is rather short %26 wide. I think its cute. And it should be easier to use than canning jars. Opening is much wider than even a "wide mouth" jar, so i can get my hand in %26 neatly layer in fruits (or veggies) 

It would also be a cute cookie jar,  candy dish or general purpose countertop canister. It would also pair well with the old school tilted candy store style canisters. I may well end up buying the other sizes %26 enjoy the variety of a full set. But for now, this 3qt was middle of the 3 %26 I think for my purposes, it is just right! 😉

Going to be a rumpot (drunken fruitbowl)

i stopped using plastic and started using glass. it looks great. the glass jars come in various sizes . i have 3 sizes. they hold things from flour variations to ice cream cones. several months now and everything has,stayed fresh tasting. best move ive made.

I bought 2 of these for my sourdough starter. One to keep it in and one to use when I need to clean the other jar. They are perfect for sourdough because the lid still allows air to escape. These lids are not air tight. Highly recommend for using  with sourdough starters

Great for Sourdough Starter

This item is amazing!!!! I would highly recommend some one to it> the glass is thick and nice. Its like an old fashion cookie jar. short and stout and so cute. I am impressed, the price even was amazing. You can't go wrong with this item. Its exactly what i wanted.

AWESOME purchase you won't be disappointed

I gave it 4 stars because it arrived with 2 small chips on the top of it. These jars are however really well made and well priced. the lids do not have a tight as seal as they are not supposed to . There is no rubber gasket between the lid and the jar but you should know that as that is how it is advertised.

Anchor hocking glass jar

I would only recommend someone to buy this if they were not looking for a lid that stays on.
This has no rubber and slides back and forth and comes off easily when you don't want it to.

Anchor Hocking Glass Jar with Lid

I usually like Anchor Hocking products—they're generally well-made and reliable. But the lids on these jars are a letdown. They don't fit. The jar itself is great for storage or display, but the lid design really undermines the overall usefulness.

If you're using it for dry goods or decorative purposes, it might still work.

Solid jar, frustrating lid.

There is no gasket of any kind on jar lid and lid does not have a close fitting ring to index on jar, so lid just sort of skates all over the jar. Not only does the lack of seal concern me, I'm afraid the lid will inadvertently slide off the jar and break. I have been unable to find a silicone gasket that would rectify this situation.

Poor design

eh this is pretty but the quality sucks and the lid is loud. lol but i mean i havnt broke it yet so 🤷
