I grew up thinking only Yankee candle. Money is tight and I decided to try Mainstays. I figured it was cheap enough that if I didn't like it I wasn't out much money. I mainly shop on line so I couldn't smell it beforehand. The smell is not overwhelming and has stayed the same strength the whole time. It burns nicely, no build up alone the sides. If you are looking you should try it.

This is my second time ordering thus vanilla candle. As I stated before in my last review my roommate who does not like anything loves this scent. Many times after cooking the scent lingers and you’d turn on the stove fan to help rid of scent but it doesn’t really help. Light this candle and 10 minutes later no more food scent just pure vanilla and it smells good.

I bought this candle via a pick up order as a present. When I received the candle, I was amazed by the scent and quality for an under 4 dollar candle. I will definitely be purchasing one again!

Great buy for the price!

The smooth texture and flavorful taste goes down well. I use it mainly to make hot toddies when I'm sick with a cold, which I'm suffering from at this moment in time. Christian Brothers Brandy has been my favorite choice, and I know that it will continue to live up to its reputation for being excellent!

this is the best candle ive ever bought... i even bought this candle for my boss at work...i will buy this over and over.

I got the vanilla and the scent is just perfect it's not too much at last for a long time. Nice for the holidays as well

Great Scent

Its a subtle vanilla scent. The candle wont last long but for the price I didnt have high expectations. Works great for a bathroom candle during a party or for an open house.

Subtle smell

My Daughter LOVES any of these fake CheMYSTERY Food-Scents.
I don't mean to be a "Debbie-Downer" about this despite Me giving 3 Stars overall and 5 Stars for other good qualities of these Candles - I personally do NOT like any Perfumes/Scents that "attempts" to smell like Food, it's NOT Real and they often turn My Stomach.  The Throw is good
On the Good side of My opinion, I assume if I bought Flowery-Scented Candles/others of this Brand, they most likely should smell good based on strengths of the Fake-Food-Scents I don't like.  But, I don't know, I make My own Candles for Spiritual Work.
When I want Foods to Scent up the House, I either Cook or use Potpourri Pots and put in REAL Vanilla Beans/Cinnamon/Cloves/Flowers/Etc./Essential Oils with Water/Wax/Carrier-Oils. 
These Candles do burn a long time and produce nice steady well-burning Flames.
The Jars Candle Wax comes in are VERY Practical for other uses as - Eating Bowls, Plant Pots, Gemstones, Trinkets or, I refill with My Own Candle Waxes %26 Essential Oils.

My Daughter LOVES These Fake-Food-Scented Candles

I had high hopes for this candle because of the reviews, but, a too good to be true thought kept creeping in. However, I thought for the price, let's give it a try. 
This candle has a wonderful scent, until you light it. The throw is nonexistent. I sat right beside it and could not smell it.

No throw.

For some reason the mainstay wick doesn't burn long. You have to keep lighting it in order for it to burn and when its burning the fire is really dim and less than 15 min goes out again. Will not be purchasing this brand of candle again!
