Red Heart yarn is great, fair priced yarn. Its one of the top brands for years.  Walmart has a wonderful selection of Red Heart yarn colors.
The yarn is durable and craft projects made with the Red Heart yarn last for years.

Every color I buy, they want a review. I’ve been using Red Heart and Red Heart super saver since 1972. In the last several years Red Heart has shifted a lot of colors to no dye lot which makes it much more convenient to match yarn colors, even over years. There are a few more joins and some very short thin or flat spots, easily hideable to the back of your project. This is a 4(worsted) weight yarn, a good all around size acrylic yarn for most projects. Wash gentle cycle or hand wash. Do not wring out. Dry flat. I mostly make ski caps (crocheted or made on a knitting peg loom,), shawls (crochet) or afghans (crochet). Durable, doesn’t pill right away. Will recommend.

Workhorse acrylic yarn

this color is absolutely beautiful it looks like just a plain pink or like a bubble gum pink but when it arrives and you compare the baby pink to this petal pink the pedal pink is absolutely gorgeous it has almost a lavender tint to it but very subtle it's beautiful!! I will be creating a multiple patterned square Afghan in this pedal pink charcoal gray and white.

This is a really pretty variegated yarn, and it is nice and soft.  I like it for making socks or slippers, and also I use it for making small throw rugs, unsung a strand of yarn and a strand of plarn (plastic bag yarn).
I cut the bags into strips of plastic, string them together and roll them into a ball of plastic yarn. Then I crochet this into a rug using a strand of variegated yarn of different colors.

This is a beautiful variegated color of yarn.

It’s 4-worsted weight yarn. The color has matched perfectly with some two year old yarn of the same color. It works well, 

I commonly use a J (5.75mm) hook because I tend to crochet fairly tightly, to get proper gauge on my projects. This works well with that. 

I also use this weight and brand yarn for 7 count plastic canvas work with a number 18 tapestry needle (same size but cheaper than yarn needles). This works well for coverage with half stitch as well as a full cross stitch. 

One more use is on knitting looms of fairly narrow peg spacing. It fills well whether knitting ribbing or plain knitting. Take care about twist and use a D Boye for the backwards stitches on ribbing and a loom pick for the knit stitches, you do have to pay attention about splitting the yarn when picking up with a pick. 

In the early 2000’s, the longtime maker of this yarn for Red Heart went out of business and there were some issues with a replacement manufacturer. The problems with icky stiff, bleeding color, (the black was notorious and had to be washed before using), is long gone. The introduction of no dye lot has stabilized (I do have one skein of a blue that was different than the same color three years later, that issue has also disappeared). 

The yarn has a few more internal joins than in the past, and a little more variation in diameter, usually near the joins. Overall it’s still a good value for the money. I do order it online because my stores that I can get to are often out of stock. I recommend this yarn, having started my first big project with this brand in 1972. It’s my go to yarn, for crafting and making larger items.

It’s yarn, it works

This is not top of the line yarn, but for what I knit I don't want fancy, top of the line yarn.  I knit LOTS of hats . The hats need to be tough and machine washable and dryable. This yarn meets my budget needs and can meet a family's need to be easy to care for.

Good yarn for the budget minded

Red heart brand acrylic yarn is a good "all purpose yarn". I'm not sure why some colors in this brand tend to feel softer than others-seems like they should feel the same. However it washes well and you can't feel any difference after laundering. This JUMBO skein is twice as much yarn as the regular Super Saver size.  I'm using it to crochet a blanket

Good worsted weight acrylic yarn.
