[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I am happy with this hot plate, is a plus with two different size burners. The size is perfect for my small kitchen. It boils water and cooks the meals perfect.  Easy clean up too. Thank you

The extra 500 watts makes a substantial difference when boiling a large pan of water or frying/sautéing food.  Expensive by comparison to other single burners but worth the value.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] So far so good. Have been using this up to the 6 setting for 3 days now. Cooked burger , french toast, and soups. No smoke came out. Started with 1 setting and slowly got to 6 without any issues on my first use.

Hot plate review

Love the counter top easy and closed heater coils. Found the on/off knob on the back a little strange. Reaching over a potentially warm surface not the best option.

Great countertop option

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I like the extra on/off feature of the burners, it has a separate control to turn off the entire  unit in addition to the individual burner controls.

I bought this after my kitchen caught on fire so I could still cook without a stove.

The label on the plate itself tells you it's normal for it to smoke during the first use.  For me, it smoked a tiny bit behind the temperature knob. It freaked me out a little bit because of the fire I had, so I turned it off really quick. I turned it back on and watched it like a hawk, but no more smoke came from it.

I wish it came in a smaller size as well, because using a smaller fry pan, the plate is exposed a little bit.  I would have bought a smaller hot plate too. A dual set of hot plates (1 smaller and 1 large) built together would have been excellent.

It cooks evenly.

It gets hot pretty quickly 

It does stay hot for a long time after turning the the temperature knob off. It still proceeded to boil the water in the pot for a few minutes afterwards, so be careful of that. 

The plate itself can be hard to clean thoroughly if something is spilled on it. The plate has tiny raised ridges.  I was cooking the rice in a bag and it boiled over for about 30 seconds until I noticed it. See the pictures of how it stained the plate even after I washed it and used a cleaning toothbrush to scrub it lightly. 

The surrounding part seems to stain or wear if you clean it with just Dawn soap and water.  Maybe I I am supposed to be using a special cleaner? 

The cord is 37.5” long excluding the plug itself.

It will fit on a counter, but if your cabinets are like mine that over the countertop a little too low, I would not suggest boiling water too close to the cabinets or it could cause the melamine covering to lift off. See picture of where the ridges are smooth now. 

So far, I am happy with this hot plate and I would recommend buying it to others. 

I hope it lasts until I can get remodeling done to the kitchen so I can buy a stove again.

Heats up quick and stays hot…

It doesn't heat up quick like advertised. It does heat. Have to use the highest setting and let whatever pot or pan sit empty to get hot enough to do anything. when it does, it's decent. Does allow to reach boil stage. Then drop temp to 1 for summer. It is what it is. Better than not having a stove top burner. Leg/handle broke on my electric skillet is why I bought this.

The main issue with this hot plate is that the entire plate gets as hot as the burner itself.  The entire unit gets as hot as the burner and you can get burned by coming in contact with it.   Also, the handles that are used to turn the hot plate on are unreadable.  It is an awful product.  I am going to return it.

Not Safe to Use

The second time using this hot plate, boiling a pot of water all 4 feet/legs melted off of this product. Fire hazard! Dangerous! My personal thought is that Walmart discontinued the sale of this hot plate, fire hazard and liability. Not recommended for human or any other use.
