Kids love it ! They fight over who gets to pull the lever though.  This one doesn't have the dog and cat sounds on it,but it has the hippopotamus and elephant which my nephew loves.

This was a purchase for a baby and she can already use it herself. What kid doesn't like animals, right? The sounds are clear and exactly like the real animals. The way you work it is easy for kids so the parents don't have to do all the work. The only thing I think could make this a better product would be  to have the animal pictures a real pic not cartoon like. Still yet, great purchase!

This item is different than they used to make it when they had the pull string. This item with the pulldown lever may be safer and more appropriate however, when the arrow goes around it points anywhere it wants to point and not at the animal that they're gonna make the sound of or talk about. I purchased this for my grandson to help him learn animal sounds. The toy makes a loud sound and you can barely hear the animal sounds. Very disappointed since I trusted the name brand.
