[Employee of walmartcanada] I bought this Instant Pot last year and it is a gamechanger! This is a multi-purpose cooker - I can make soups, stews and cook my favourite meats in no time. The Instant Pot allows me to save so much time! Highly recommended and very easy to clean.

Great Product

What can I say about Instant Pot that you haven't seen on a million other sites? This thing is a game changer! I know it may seem podunk, but sauteing or searing things in the pot before adding whatever liquid you will be cooking in along with other ingredients and then pressure cooking them to perfection seems really cool and works great! We have had this for a while now and use it multiple times a week. When we were thinking about getting it I was worried that it was only going to be a soup making machine but believe me, it is so much more. Some of the things, besides soup, that we regularly make in this is meatloaf, chicken wings, sausage, rice, and ribs! Yes, you read that right, we make BBQ ribs in this and they are without a doubt the best darn ribs I have ever had and I've made them for years on the grill! Pressure cook those bad boys with a can or bottle of quality beer and spices until almost done and finish them off either in the oven or on the grill with sauce and you'll never want them any other way! Fall off the bone tender and the pressure drives the flavors into each bite of the meat! And making rice is now fool proof, add equal amounts of rice and water/stock, slap on the lid, hit the rice button and 12 minutes later you have perfect fluffy rice! And with millions of recipes online for everything from Zuppa soup to sweet tea to corned beef brisket, you'll never run out of uses for it! And it is built like a tank with a ton of safety features so no worries of it exploding like a bomb in your kitchen.
There are 2 types of people out there: those that have never used an Instant Pot and those that can't stop raving about them. Make the jump to the raving side and you won't be sorry! At 8 QT this is big enough to make dinner for 6 to 8 people or to make large batches of something so you can freeze it for a quick to reheat meal. You can't go wrong with this thing, why haven't you bought it yet? Get going before it sells out!

Buying a instant pot

This is a heavy duty appliance and every bit as wonderful as everyone says! I bought it to replace an old slow cooker and love it! It is a beast! There are so many things you can do with it, I am looking forward to testing all the settings but so far have used the pressure cook and slow cook options. Works as expected.

Amazing appliance!

Great as a pressure cooker. Not so great as a crockpot - doesn't cook as fast as a crockpot. Also, if you're buying this to make bone broth you'll have to run it through one 4 hour cycle, release the pressure and run it through a second 4 hour cycle to get the collagen out and reach that gel state when it's cooled.

Making Bone Broth?

After having this for over a year, I finally thought to do a review. Its a fantastic brand, with great customer support. Theres a definite learning curve to using it though, and the manual that comes with it is fairly minimalistic. Its like many small kitchen appliances. You'll use it a ton at first and then just use it as often as a crockpot or air fryer. I would definitely recommend getting one.

I use instant pot almost daily. I'm forgetting how to use other appliances. Searing, roasts, soups, steam veg, grains regularly. Haven't tried baking. My first 2 Instant Pots were flawless and saw a lot of cooking. This most recent order has a faulty pressure regulator and will be returned. I like to prepare everything inside and let it cook outside on the deck so there is no extra heat inside during hot days. Some people worry about safety... if it's not running like a clock, it won't run at all. Since I've gone to the 8 quart unit, I'll never go back.

Great product

I decided to splurge and buy the instant pot. I absolutely love it! It is great to use during this summer heat. I can make a meal and not heat up the kitchen. I would definitely recommend this product.

I love using my instant pot!

So I bought 1 for myself and 1 as a gift which I just gave to my friend Saturday the 9th of July and when he opened the box.... it was broken. The plastic on the back side of the top lid was broken. So they were unable to use it. It very unfortunate that I ga e a broken gift to the the newly weds. I feel very bad. Now I am going to have to replace the unit and am a joke of the party because I gave a broken gift to them. Maybe I should have checked the gift before hand but didn't feel like it was necessary. So if there is any way you can help me out that would be great. Otherwise I will never buy from Walmart.ca again.
