I like this tent! I’ve had many Coleman tents but this black-out innovation is a first for me. I was worried that there might be some off-gassing from the black-out stuff. There was not and I slept well. It was an easy set up, in the dark, at midnight, with just me setting up. If it hadn’t been my first set up in years, with a new tent, then set up would have been less than ten minutes. I love that Coleman still has the same tough waterproof bottom material that comes up the sides (about 10”?? 8”?) enough for protection in small flooding events. On day two, it rained hard in the morning but inside the tent was dry. I hadn’t used the strings to stake down the rain guard but it wasn’t necessary; the rain fell off properly. I slept through the downpour but the outside of the tent was still wet from rain when I had to pack out so I didn’t roll it up for bagging, but left it loose in the car with the other wet things. After drying fully on my porch I rolled it up properly and was once again impressed that all the pieces fit just fine in the carry bag. I didn’t have to open up the extra gusset built into the carry bag. This tent is truly black-out. I can’t wait to use it beach camping to finally have some shade after sunrise and see how it handles hot weather. I already have the necessary extra long stakes for setting up in sand. The included stakes are the standard length. They’re fine for most camping setups. It’s just that beach camping on sand and in constant wind requires using longer stakes. Without the rain guard the tent has lots of open screen, the solid sides are all black-out. The windows are screen with zippered black-out. I’m guessing that staking the strings of the rain guard will open up more venting space for the tent’s large open screen area to breathe more? The vent space is shallower when just relying on the tent pole attachment points. Because I am a bit of a glamper I thought the size was perfect for just me. I could see how two, or two and 1/2, could be fine. I just like to leave plenty of room between my stuff and the sides of a tent due to early experiences of rainwater wicking through tents when an item is touching the tent walls during rain. My paranoia about that might be outdated, but I’m not going to experiment.

We purchased this tent around 7 years ago and we still love it! It is light weight and easy to assemble. We have used it in the BWCA, Superior National Forrest, and beach camping. She has survived brutal storms and is still waterproof. I am a rise with the sun kind of person so I really appreciate the darkness feature. It works perfect for the two of us and the dogs. We also used it next to our camper when we have guests.

Great product! We have used it several times. We like to setup movie nights in our backyard and end it with a night in our tents. Easy to set up, take down doesn’t take up a lot of space.

as soon as i got it and put it together i doused it with the water hose for 15 minutes.....as i expected from a Coleman.....Not 1 Leak....am very satisfied with the tent, i packed it up and put it away until ill need it for my next excursion

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] W e camp often and this is an easy set-up and take down. Holds a queen-sized air mattress with floor space left. Love the "dark room " feature. Keeps sun out in the morning,also keeps cool during the day.

Love my new tent!!

This is a great tent. It really is dark inside and I’m able to sleep during the day. Only problem is it’s a bit warm. The airflow needs a little work. Still recommend it and I’m a happy camper.

Great blackout tent.

Bought it a local store , set it up at home to make sure I could set it up alone and that all the parts were not defective .. 
low and behold it took me only 7 mins to set up .. all the parts were there and everything was easy as can be expected. At first it was a little wonky setting up the two poles across it is not necessarily but very helpful to have a second person hold up the two poles in the center and making sure the poles are even across .. 
the poles sit away from the tent not flush . Love the zip up windows .. and the rain fly is a slight odd I recommend putting the pole in first then attaching it .. 
there were not tears or rips and the  Quality the stitches very good . The seams could probably use a seam goo but if it’s not raining then it shouldn’t be a problem . 
It’s bigger than I expected and I can easily fit myself and two tall teen boys inside . 
The take down and fold up was not too hard and all fit back in the bag if your careful and fold nicely . 
I’ll do another review after the 4th of July camping trip and update you all .

Great product

I used this tent all summer including a 30 day road trip to the arctic circle where the sun never sets. It was easy to put up, did well in thunderstorms and wind.  It will hold a queen size mattress, but that is the entire interior of the tent.  There was plenty of room for me and my giant dog.  I took it down about every 2 days and moved to my next location, and it held up well.  I purchased longer tent pegs and the little ones included in the package did work well for the ground type there.  The door zipper gets caught if you aren't careful, but overall I was very happy with it. One of the tent poles broke in a windstorm last week. I hope to find a replacement so I can continue to use the tent.

We bought the four person dark room tent. To begin, one of the poles was starting to crack at the end straight out of the box. Then, once the poles were inserted into the sleeve and bent to set up the tent one side was too long and wouldn't fit. We even switched the poles and still ended up with the same issue. Not sure if it is the poles or the tent that is not correct. We were at our camp location for a first cub scout camp out and could not get it replaced.  Four seasoned camping adults could not fix the issue. After one nights use the pole that started with a small split is now split to the middle. This tent is going back and we will try something different.
