For most of my life I have used a safety razor because I didn't have a good experience with electric razors when I was a young man. I never seemed to get a good shave and the razor burn was uncomfortable. I purchased the Philips 5000 after much deliberation and reading of product reviews of both the Philips, and competitors products. I am certain that I made the right choice. I am completely satisfied with my Philips 5000. It has great battery life and delivers a smooth shave without any irritation.

Easy to clean

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I've had Norelco razors for years and it was time to retire my old one. It still shaved well, but the on/off switch was not always working properly. The new razor is wonderful and gives a great shave on a tough beard.

Highly recommend!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have used Norelco shavers for 30 plus years.  All have had electric plugs. Those one h connect has a USB connection. As an 89 yr old. THIS IS unexceptable.
  ALSO, it does not seem to be as close a shave as other Norelcos.

NO recharge plug!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I love that I can shave dry after showering.  I'm still getting used to the shaver.  I love that I don't cut my face, but I wish it could get a little bit closer of a shave.  I can feel stubble a few hours after shaving, sooner if I miss a spot or two.  Overall, I like using the shaver.

Pretty good shave.

I would have given it 5 stars apart from one feature. The power socket should be a standard USB C so that it can be charged from the same charger used for laptops and phones without hunting for the right cable and carrying a non standard cable when traveling. 
Otherwise an excellent razor. I use it daily.

Needs USB C charge port.

I have been using Philips shavers for a very long time, from my first battery powered double headed shaver back in the 1970's, which I used on backpacking trips, as it was a better option than cold water shaving in a river. Several models later, including the iconic black & white ‘AT&T/Williams' model, my new 5000 series model seems to be  even better at doing it job of giving a comfortable and close shave!!
My only other comment is that, as most shaver sockets are currently still ‘Two Pin' types, it would have been nice, if it had come with a USB charging adapter, rather than having to purchase one in the aftermarket.

IT'S GOOD

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I didn't realize it didn't include the USB Adapter, so I had to order that after the shaver arrived. The plastic surrounding the shaving heads is huge making it difficult to shave around my beard or see where I'm using the pop-up trimmer. Wish I could still get a plug-in shaver with pop-up trimmer!

Difficult to use, easy to clean

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I purchased this shaver after cataract surgery and could not get my face wet for more than a week. I have since used it wet and dry, with pre-shave and with soap. For some reason, my result is that several whiskers are missed no matter what I try.

Good but not great

Not very precise. Cause neck rash for me too. Not as good as the Braun electric 3000 series shaver I swapped this for. Also feels cheap but considerably expensive.

Avoid this shaver.
