The denim fabric is stretchy and soft. Contrary to other review, I found that these fit my daughter true to size. She is a few months from turning 10, and the size 10 fit her, with a slight amount of room to grow.

Fit true to size, and good quality for the price!

Nice shorts but the fit is extremely small.  My daughter is currently size 8.  I ordered a size up for summer and got her a 10.  They don't fit her - the 10 is more like a size 6-7.   Returned.
