[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Great Transformer! It's a recolor of the Legacy Gears figure, but with a new head that I like much better and with nicer colors. My one, very minor complaint is that the figure's chestplate has to be attached after opening, so the figure doesn't look as nice in the box (for those that care about displaying things still sealed in box).

My twin grandsons LOVED it!! I actually got two different ones. If anyone sees my reviews, they'll see there's a pattern, lol. Walmart has been supplying all of my grandbabies wants and needs. This YaYa will definitely be ordering more.  So, if you have anyone that loves transformers, this is a must have!!  Anyway, 10 out of 10, highly recommend!! Off to leave a review on the other transformer. ☺️

Fantastic G1 re-issue Transformer. Amazing packaging with original retro artwork. The figure itself feels like it's made of premium plastics and it feel wonderful and chunky in-hard. The transformation is simple and straightforward. Gears looks fantastic in vehicle mode with a cool attention to details that most re-issues leave off. Excellent paint work and logos. One of my favorite Transformers of the year.

Awesome retro G1 Transformer

Was originally going to buy the main figure that was released in the Legacy line but then I saw the retro release for this guy and was shocked that they actually went towards the original Diaclone design. 

With the emotionless mono-visor, mouth plate and the brighter colours. Of course, just like the legacy figure, one of the better articulated figures and with a simple transformation sequence that walks us into his truck mode. It bothers me that this is not the standard because THIS is what I would get for the retail value they are selling for. If you want to get into the Transformers collecting area, this figure is a MUST due to it's quality.

The best deluxe class figure with a Diaclone mix

Transformers generations legacy Gears has some great articulation and a fun transformation with many different 5mm ports for different weapons and armor to be applied.

This version of the figure comes in a vintage styled 1984 cardback with plastic bubble, and a new 80s style robot head, with red eyes and and a battle mask.

Young or old, Gears is a solid and fun figure, with secret 80s robot homages hidden in his design.

Transformers Retro G1 Gears 80s robot nostalgia

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The Retro line for Transformers and GI Joe are the perfect collectibles! These beautifully designed and packaged toys completely hits the nostalgia of my childhood watching the Saturday morning cartoons and then going to Wal-mart and buying these action figures. I hope they continue to make these. Autobot GEARS is spot on. Hopefully BUMBLEBEE looks just as good as this toy. A complete home run on this line!!!

Transformers Retro GEARS is a Home Run to collect!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] A very similar version of this toy was released last year, but I honestly wish I'd known this was coming so I could have waited. This Gears has colors more like the original toy from 1985, as well as a restyled robot mode head. These small changes add up to a big difference in how the toy looks, and this is hands down my favorite version. The underlying design of the toy is great, and it's easy to transform while being a satisfying process. Plus I love the retro-style packaging they designed for this release. The one and only knock against it is that a tiny bit of very easy final assembly is required, which detracts from its ability to be displayed in the sealed packaging. The packaging is regrettably not collector friendly where it can be non-destructively opened and then put back together, so it's the one makr I really take away from it. Otherwise I love this a lot!

One Gears to rule them all

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Since I had so many Transformers toys as a kid, the old look of the figures was always more appealing to me than the cartoon accurate ones. Gears here manages to give me that nostalgia boost from my childhood.

Great nostalgic throwback

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] If you have the Legacy Gears, you know what to expect.  Transformation from robot to car is very fluid and everything snaps together tight.  His colors are based on his original toy as is his head design.  He comes with his gun with can be held in robot mode and stored on top or the sides in vehicle mode.  However, you don't have to take him out of the box to appreciate him as the cardback packaging is very cool to look at with great art.  The cardback is strong so you don't have to worry about it creasing easily and makes for a great display.  The only thing I will mention is that his chest is separate (behind the figure) so you will need to attach it to achieve his complete look.

Whether you keep him in the box or not, Gears is a solid figure overall.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] fun redeco, and the new headsculpt and packaging is nice. one thing to note if you buy this product is that the figure's chest piece is packaged seperately from the body, so be careful not to throw it away

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] The actual toy is designed well and looks great. My copy had issues with the way the pinned joints were set, causing the legs to be extremely loose.

Recommend, but be aware of defective copies.
