Most customers found it straightforward to assemble.

Can be sturdy, but also prone to flimsy construction.

So there's some funniness in this review because in the last month or so I was cleaning up my apartment and trying to rearrange furniture and wanted to repurpose some stuff in my bedroom so I kind of thought I needed this piece of furniture and despite the fact that when built, it looks exactly the picture, but I ended up realizing even though I bought it, I didn't necessarily need it, I ended up giving it to somebody else Who could use it, but even though I didn't keep it that does not mean it didn't look good and didn't service me properly. I just realized that after buying it and putting it together, I didn't need it, but that's not negative on the product itself.

I pretty much tried to consider everything else about it positive even though I didn't keep it because I do think it would work out, I just didn't need it until I realized it after the fact.

When finished it looks just like the picture.

I liked this bookcase and its ease to put it together. Of course it does not look like real wood but it was definitely worth the price.. I am going to purchase another for the other side of the room. I bought this style so I could place my photo albums in the bottom space behind the doors. Plus I felt most items placed on the bottom of book shelves never really get seen, so it was good to have doors.

Great value bookcase

I put this product together by myself very easy. They even had video instructions if you needed it, but I pretty much just use the pamphlet that they gave me. I think it was a great value. It holds everything that I need has a two doors at the bottom just only problems when I was trying to get the doors in, but otherwise everything was great. It fits all my little things that I have along with my books and goes well in the office. Great, I would buy it again, you will need a ham screwdriver drill

Great bookcase for money

I love these shelves.  I bought 4 of them and used as a full wall unit in my home office.  The instructions were very easy to follow.  I took my time laying out all the pieces and reading the pamphlet as I went along.  I used a small power screwdriver.  A drill might be too powerful and split the particle board.  You don't need a lot of pressure to put the screws in!  My “hubby” didn't need to help with assembly!
He just helped me carry them into the office!

I added my own hardware and painted and stained the back board! Soo very happy with it! I'm ordering a 4th. I'll eventually add to a 2x4 base at bottom and add crown to top to give it a more “built in look”. Great bang for my buck

Very pleased

Very cute piece, especially for the price. It's very tall and stores a good amount of stuff with the shelves and cabinets. 
Very easy to put together. Did it alone in about an hour, everything lined up nicely. Once you start to fill it, it begins to feel sturdier and less wobbly. 
Just use caution when putting it together on the floor and moving it around. I should've used a blanket underneath because the material scratches very easily. 
Overall, I'd recommend because it's a nice piece for the price.

Great for the price

The assembly took me a while, but the instructions were beyond good. They were funny, detailed, and felt like it was written by a real human being who understands how challenging it can be. Thoroughly enjoyable to build, you will need a hammer, tape measurer for certain parts, but it's easy! In LOVE with this item. If I needed more than one, I'd buy it again!

Detailed instructions! Easy to assemble.

This bookshelf is a great compliment to the other mainstays bookshelf. The bottom cabinet makes it easy to store things out of sight. The mainstays line of furniture is better than I ever thought. I redid my son's bedroom with all mainstays and it looks great!

For the price point it's definitely worth the buy. You definitely have to use the screws to connect to the wall or it will tip over from a little toddler like mine. Easy to assemble and it looks really nice to display.

Easy price point for a bedroom

We bought this to hide our kids backpacks. I was tired of not having a place for them so I figured they could go in the cabinets on the bottoms of this shelf. It does exactly what I hoped and holds 3 backpacks and adds extra space for me to add decor. Excited about that for the holidays coming up! Only thing is I wish the holes where the pegs for the shelves go had been painted black on the inside maybe. I don't love that you can see every hole. I may try to make them black myself so they're less noticeable.

Shelf review

Just scared after building this shelves looks good but I did not expect the way they engineer this is not sturdy..
I have small kids and afraid that will fall on to them..so decided not to continue assembling  after Ibtried the first one.
Both  sides like that serve as Post of the whole unit should be contnous not to be joint ..it still wiggling no matter what..
